Why not ask them if they run a payroll between now and next month - if they do, can you be included on that? Or if not, is there a chance that they would CHAPS the money to you and you pay the fee for it? I think its around £30 - at least then you'd get something and hopefully be able to afford the petrol.
Just suggestions....
Not quite sure what your first one is about. Any employee moaning to clients or anyone about not being paid due to their error is on risky ground.
As for the next bit they may consider it but they may also want to avoid the precedent and also the extra work to be involved in this as payrolls etc and accounts wouldnt balance fully and money would have to be in control accounts and such and creates extra admin and costs0 -
She is being totally unreasonable, im not asking her to bend over backward lol. unfortunatley they dont run a payroll between now and then, possible bacs or cheque payment will have to see what MD says. Thanks Katiecoodle x xDFW Nerd #awaiting number - Proud to be dealing with my debts!

No she isnt lol
Do you have any idea about what is involved in running a payroll and the financial, legal and audit implications
It might seem easy and to a degree it is to put a Chaps payment through but then that creates extra work and if the person is already busy that is the last thing they need and if they set the precedent what do they do 6 months down the line when its 2 or 3 people a month wanting it done.0 -
Right ok, i have worked there for 4 yrs. And rarely hand sheets in on time. Nobody does, but im guessing she now wants them in weekly as per contract. (I have always been paid though) I guess she is making a example of me and another person. The timesheets are saved on people planner, she doesnt need the hard copies to put wages through the hard copies signed by clients are for CSIW records - people planner tells her exactly my hours. Never mind, i won't have much choice other than to be more awkward and get her to cover my shifts next month.DFW Nerd #awaiting number - Proud to be dealing with my debts!

My husband and several of his workmates didn't get paid one month. Well they got their basic salary but no day rates. It was one office that didn't hand in their timesheets to another office on time - so not their fault. Their employer gave them an advance of £700 which was taken off their salary on their next payslip the following month.
This was a multinational company. Any chance that your employers could give you an advance?0 -

What a lovely attitude to have....
So what you used to be able to get away with being lax with the paper work, now they're asking you to meet the deadlines set as part of your contract with them.
They did extend the deadline from Monday to Tuesday -can I ask if you don't mind why when you knew it was due on Monday and realised it had'nt gone in did you not call on Tuesday to let them know and ask for a further extension or for other methods of getting it to them? I know when I was doing agency work if my time sheet wasnt in on the deadline I didn't get paid until the next payrun, but if I knew I'd forgotten/hadn't got it to them I'd phone first thing the next day to apologise and generally if I could email or fax it to them by lunchtime they let it pass.
Unfortunately the hardcopies are usually the only concrete proof an agency has that a worker has turned up - they know the hours you should be there from the planner - but the numbers of people who just don't bother, get new jobs and don't tell any one, over slept etc etc was shocking to me when I was temping in an agency office. It never seemed unreasonable to me that they see the hours as signed for by a line manager before the pay is put through - again companies like to find ways not to pay contracts to agencies and 'Can you prove that x was working those hours on that day' is a common one - the only proof the agency has is that hard copy.
As for the last comment you are of course joking? Right? :eek:It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Jackie that was an office admin error though, not an error on the part of the worker, I'd guess most companies will do their best to make good an internal mistake. My husband and several of his workmates didn't get paid one month. Unfortunatly i wasnt joking, if i dont get paid i cannot afford to run my house and my car. My car is a luxuary my house isn't, it is a neccesity. No car = no work! As soon as i received the text to say i needed to hand sheets in within 2 hours i rang and explained i wouldnt be able to make it, i dont have access to scanner or a fax machine. When i did ask her to cover my shifts she kindly paid me in cash to cover what i would have been short. I have learnt my lesson and timesheets are handed in on time weekly as per request.
P.S It also became apparent that i had'nt signed the "time sheet contract" so she would have not had a right to withhold any pay.DFW Nerd #awaiting number - Proud to be dealing with my debts!

Is a 30 mile round trip too difficult if it makes sure your timesheet is in when it is supposed to be. 15 miles will take 20 mins depending on route traffic etc. Would that not have been simpler? Or are you stuck and not able to get there within the two hours mentioned?
