BT Line for Broadband

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this but...
I only need a BT Phone line for my broadband with Plusnet, however I hardly use my landline but pay about £11 per month for BT Option 1.
Is there any way around this or can I get it cheaper elsewhere? Even though I pay £25 per month to Plusnet by braodband actually costs me about £36!!
Any help will be greatly appreciated

It's still a phone line whether you use it for voice calls or not so to get BB you've got to rent one [or go cable] AFAIK. Don't Plusnet do line rental? Thought I read on their website they do? But anyway, suppliers charge much the same as BT for line rental - TalkTalk do I know - so you're probably not going to save a great deal renting from someone else unless it's part of calls inclusive deal, which doesn't really suit your needs.
Sorry that doesn't help very much.0 -
Hi, I have the same problem, we hardly ever use our BT phone, with broad band this is costing me about 45 per month. I am going to switch to cable, probably NTL but am doing some research after reading poor comments on this site
NTL broadband only is 15 per month HTH0 -
Similar here!! I pay £35 per month direct debit, but my actual service charges are about £92 per quarter between my BB (£26.99) and Together option 1 (£10.99). My phone charges in the last bill were £2.86 :rotfl:
So I'm looking at reducing that - my wife's a bit sceptical about hidden charges with other providers, but I've suggested we look at Sky and Telewest.Everybody dies, but not everyone truly lives0 -

They supply a suitable cable modem which has both USB (spit) and Ethernet ports.
