Has anyone been to Playa Fanabe in tenerife, whats it like? I'm going in September

HI Iwent to Tenerife about 3 years ago, I am astounded by how many people I have talked to since who have been to tenerife and didnt goup mount Teide! It is truly amazing! And Im not a big sightsee-er, once youve seen one coastline youve seen them all kind of thing but really go up the mountain its like a different planet once you drive through the clouds some of star wars was filmed there!

I can't wait to go up Mount Teide, is it best to hire a car or go on a trip

Hotel Isla Bonita is the all-inclusive hotel on the same strip as the Jacarand,stayed in them both.
The Isla Bonite has large ,comfortable rooms..complex itself is a bit here and there,big large central walkway with bar outdoors,pleasant to sit out in the evening.
The restraunt was near the smaller pool when we stayed,seems a bit small for the amount of guests.
Chefs tend to look at you funny when you ask for well done steaks,decent selection of food,clean..tended to cater for French and Italians when we were there (minority) but places change,could now be full of english.
Downside i found as a smoker was the cabaret and entertainments lounge was non-smoking..had to sneak upstairs outside for a fag.
Only two minutes walk from the front,we find it is the better part of the island,some lovely hotels on this side.
Tried to post objectivly,enjoy your stay.

we hired a car, but we had it for the week anyway, but I dnt think it would make a great deal of diff either way, methinks with a day trip you would get a lot of info from the tour guide which would be interesting. I wouldnt hire a car especially to go up the mountain but i also wouldnt pay for the day trip if i had acar

oh gosh i just realised i got thanked for my post i really feel honoured its my first! I use this site on and off when i need to and have always felt really guilty cos ive had nothing to contribute so thanx back

I dnt think it makes agreat deal of difference if you hire a car or take a trip you would prob get more touristy info on a trip which would be interesting

We went on a coach trip up Mount Tiede - it was great, but beware if you are asthmatic, I found it hard to breathe at the top. Also on the way down in the bus I was literally falling asleep in whilst talking to OH - I was a bit scared about this but the guide said it sometimes happens as a reaction to the altiude. That being the case, I would advise you NOT to drive as I had no idea this would happen to me and it was scary!
