Television helppppp!!!

Options
Hi all,
i am looking to buy a new television for a room in my house however with all the new tv changes that are happening, i admit i am not very up to date with the technology. I have been advised by family to go for a sony as they are the best....having looked at a few, they are also the most expensive....does anyone know more than i do and can help me???

I want a 37inch tv...it doesnt have to be a sony however, i would buy a sony if it means it is the best quality.

Also, does anyone know of any deals or offers currently on in the high street for tv's

help would be appreciated...

Thanks

Just to start you off, Marks And Spencer have a 40" Sony Bravia with Freesat HD and a five year warranty and free delivery.

Sony and Panasonic tend to come out top in the majority of surveys.
You need to give a little more info, are you looking for HD Ready or Full HD? What platform will you be using your TV with? Do you want HD TV, or just HD to use with Blu-Ray?
For example, if you are going to use Freesat, it would make sense to go for a TV with an integrated Freesat tuner.
    And what is your budget?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

I am looking for full HD as I already have a sky + hd box and need a tv to complement that now. I'm not really fussed about blu ray as I have ps3 which also has blu ray. I think the tv is more to use with the HD programmes e.g. sky sports hd.
Does freesat mean i need to get a dish and cabling installed etc???I just need some sort of integrated freeview.
I want to spend around £700
the tv has to be 37" as I think 40" wil look too big for where I will be mounting it.

    thanks for your help

just to add to the above, I obviusly want the best price available for my requirements. I am not a technology freak so not having complete top of the range stuff does not bother me..

Don't forget to make sure your new TV is wifi enabled:D
The built in freeview won't be compatable with Freeview HD, so it might be worth waiting just a little bit longer for the Freeview HD sets to come along, or Freesat HD come to that.
That gum you like is coming back in style.
