I'm confused. What article was from 1993? The article in Hamish's OP is full of details about the budget changing the stamp duty threshold for FTBs and is very specific to 2010.

An article in a completely different thread.

    It's changed now.

It was a 1993 article before. Referring to 1994 etc.

Now it's just the title thats wrong. Says "FTB's come out of hibernation". The article talks about how the FTB COULD come out of hibernation, maybe.

    No Graham.......

It's just you getting confused again.

Just what my local EA advised today that FTB are returning to the market. He's never been busier and enjoying what he called a 'mini-autumn-boom'.
You do seem to be spending rather a lot of time with your local estate agent, are you his stalker?

Around my way, there are an awful lot more FTBs suddenly coming onstream which has to be a good thing

That is strange as it has been widely published that the September revival never happened and Coogan of the CML is saying high deposits are preventing ftb entering the market.

Madness do you live in Aberdeen by any chance? ;)

They have obviously been attracted by the falling prices

Whilst flippant, you successfully underpin point regarding the lack of fairness of those who have profited from inflated property prices.

That goes for baby boomers, so-called property developers and estate agents too by the way. It's all unearned paper "wealth" based on speculation and laziness.

And most people don't want a Porsche.

In fact, most people might like to buy a home just like their parents were able to.

Your parody of the frustration experienced by the disenfranchised young is yet another "let them eat cake" rant.

How long has it taken you to realise life isn’t fair. I am a dreaded boomer and I know I was lucky to be born when I was. I would much rather have been born 30 years later than 30 or 50 years earlier. If your talking about fair you could have been born in a country where your main concern was having clean water to drink.

By what measure do you see prices falling - most of the indices are still showing month on month positive.
