Barter For A Bargain Beach Holiday

I have been on the phone ALL DAY! I wanted to find a better deal than the £1814 pp with Sandals for a September wedding in Antigua.
Virgin quoted me the same price but where helpfull in advising me of the building work going on next to the hotel! So I dropped that idea like a hot potato and returned to Saveapenny's recomendation of the Paradius in Holguin, Cuba.
Holiday Place offered me what I believe to be a super deal. £2897 including the £689 for the wedding cermony and direct fights ( 6th Sept). After 10 days of beach lounging/sports you get taken, by plane, to Havana where you can explore for 3 days before travelling from there back to Gatwick. I tried to find a better deal than this but no-one ( so far) has managed to beat this twin deal. My question is, is Havana worth spending all the exta money on going to see?
Secondly, I rang Apollo Travel who have offered me 10 days in the Sandals Bahamas resort for £3480 and I am wondering which option is the best as both are 5 star resorts.
Any Advise appreciated.0 -
That seems like a brillaint deal and reading the reports on tripadvisor they do an excellent job on the wedding.
I havnt been to Havana (yet) but my sisiter went last year but only for the day from Varadero but she wants to go back and spend longer there.
I have been to the Bahamas and to be honest I was very dissapointed it wasnt at all what I expected its very American with buger bars and stuff like.

I am sorry Mandy you can't be my bridesmaid as if you wore your stunning sarong and flippers outfit YOU would be the bell of the ball!

On a serious note, we have now desided to elope to the cook Islands as on "Travel Advisor" the hotel we have chosen had a 5 star rating from 17/18 reviewers. That is such a good site - thanks again for recommending it.0 -
I hope you have a fantastic time ..even though I am gutted I wont get to wear my flippers and sarong
