  • This system does work !!!!
A couple of years ago I was looking for a hol in Mexico and noticed that a couple of High street agents (holiday hypermarket and lunn polly) advertised, 'we won't be beaten on price !'. I told them exactly where/when I wanted to go then went from one to the other with the competitors quotes for a few hours until Hol Hyper stated that they couldn't go any lower on price because they wouldn't make any profit on the sale !! ( I think they also realised what I was doing !). In total I saved approx £350 per person on the original price quoted. I then suggested that they didnt charge for the inflight meal if I booked there and then.. Deal !!!!!

Hello Martin and fellow money savers.
Later this month I was hopeing to book my all inclusive wedding package to Cuba, with the intention of traveling this September. I chose to travel with "Sandals" as they throw in the wedding cermony for free. My question is could I get the same deal at a lower cost for this specific break as I premused that Travel agents would only want to make more commision out of me. I am prepared to be flexible with the dates.
    Thanks

    Please check carefuly.
The best hotels I found where the PARADISUS either in Varadero or Holgiun both get excellent reviews

Thanks Saveapenny for recommending some impressive Cuban Hotels. The only problem is that I chose Sandals as they threw in a wedding service for free, a offer not available at Paradisis or Vararero.

Second to this the Sandal internet quote was about £3,00 total including flights and your site only was £2,419 without flights.

But I appreciate your efforts. :p

I worked out the above costings based on the web pricing of $310 pp per night 7th Sept -14th Sept. How did you manage to get to a total of £1968.80?

When you mentioned that the flights were included my ears really pricked up!

But I am still left with the dilema that the reason we are going to Cuba is to get married and I wouldn't have a clue how to organise or cost the rest of the trip.

If this hotel provided this service I would book today!

  • Thanks Saveapenny for the directions towards a reputable travel agent, I will be ringing her but to see if she can get me a better deal on the Antiga Sandals holiday. I took your advice and found the reviews spoke of cuba as, to put it bluntly, you go there and expect second best. I am sure this is not always the case but that was enough to put snobby old me off!

I am sorry this reply is not in the private box but I am still learning my way round using a message borad.

No problem ...another good company to try for Sandals is https://www.theholidayplace.co.uk they are very helpull and dont forget to sign up for virgin holidays newsleter they will have a 15% off day sometime over Easter that could save you a bit.
Like I said before the only hotel that I found with really good reviews and you dont except second best is the PARADIUS in Holguin
