Free PDF software - your thoughts on these two?

I'm thinking of installing free PDF software. I came across recommendations on the following CutePDF and pdf995. Does anyone have any experience of either of these? Apparently you will then be able to choose an option of "print to pdf" - which I'm hoping allows you to save as a pdf file so that only when absolutely necessary to have a paper copy you can then click to actually physically print it. I'm hoping to save things like online receipts or booking transaction confirmations that I may never have to actually print off.
Hope this makes a modicum of sense, lol!
Thanks

CutePDF is very good and I use it all the time. Its really easy to use, print like you normally do then select CutePDF from the drop down where you have your printer listed.
Saves paper, saves money, saves ink!0 -
Thanks for the quick responses - Foxit seems to have good reviews too. I'm spoilt for choice

Cheers

Foxit is a reader, and a very good one too. There is a 'writer' version, but you have to pay for that.
Consider Bullzip too.

Neither..
Use Foxit Reader, it's the best imho and certainly the most popular alternative that people use.0 -
I'll add another vote to the CutePdf scoreIt's taken me years of experience to get this cynical0

I prefer to use CutePDF for making them and Acrobat Reader for viewing. Just a personal choice instead of FoxIT
Don't use PDF995, I believe it's linked to NitroPDF, which is a pain in the backside, because it creates a word template which generates loads of errors if you delete it. It's nothing but a hassle.Owner of andrewhope.co.uk, hate cars and love them

Cute PDF gets my vote, I am a Draughtsman and find that the resultant PDF from eg an AutoCad Drawing is of much better quality than others I have tried, and very easy to use.0

I have used CutePDF in the past and never had problems.0

at work we use pdf creator, but i have a pc with Acrobat pro - cos i'm special ;o)
you treat them like a printer, and it'll ask you where to save a pdf, you can even combine them if you play with it enough0
