They used to say that you could raise a second child just with the amount of money you spent on photos and in the first 6 months of the first....mind you this was years ago when my son was little. As for your OH, have met him lol, if you pay me very handsomely I will take him!!! LOL

That is probably true, I spent over a grand on pics of DS when he was tiny, one set he was teething and looks like a big red blotchy mess covered in dribble! Only 2 aren't in boxes. AND I was on Income Support at the time, if I had 'real' money I probably would have spent more.

They're doing the sepia/victorian style ones at his preschool tomorrow, luckily he doesn't go on Mondays anymore and he doesn't want to 'dress like a farmer anyway' as he put. I wouldn't mind but they only had someone come and do regular photos 2weeks ago :rotfl:

You are prob right Mambury, and I did think of that, but there was one on bargainfinder that had a tent and I though wow, then I googled it and it came up with that! The reasoning in my head was, that she is 2 and a half, so maybe she couldn't get down the ladder, so I can justify the slide :D Not that the idea of putting her to bed and her staying there til I go and get her is a bads one!
It is better than OHs suggestion though. He thinks we should get a junior Peppa Pig bed, but she will grow out of either the bed or Peppa soon, so we would only have to buy another one in a year or two. DD2 is in a crib atm, refusing to buy another cot for her, but she is growing out of that, and the cot is a cotbed, so have it converted for DD1 atm. hmmm, it is soooo cool though!
Back to the drawing board I guess :(
Oh, thankyou NLID, went to B&Q today and got pretty pink paint for her room on offer today! Also found some lovely silver butterfly transfers for her wall on EBay, so only need a new bed for her, then she is officially a big girl!

Edit: Elly, does that mean it is ok to get it???? :D

  • I think the reason I want it so much is because we never had the money to do things like that for her before, everything has always been hand me downs or gifts from relatives, so I feel like I need to make up for that now, by doing things properly (like the paint, the bed etc). Even though she is my first, I have never had prof pics done of her, I always think that the money would be better spent on things that she will like too. There is plenty of time for that later, besides we have a camera. Anywho, off to bed, night all xxx

  • My friends daughter has this bed:

They've drapped princess-y pink things round too, but it's cute enough to last her a few years if she decides she doesn't like princesses too. And its pretty sturdy! Would she like something like that?

  • If anyone's wondering why I haven't posted today, it's cos my bloomin puter keeps logging me out and I'm fed up with signing back in to everything grrr.

Are there any Dribblers in the London area? I'm coming over shortly ...

the only warning i will give is the top bunks are a pain in the asre to make up the beds and if they are sick in them or wet them given her age the same goes both mine have the argos high sleepers with futon below but dd rattles hers so much she drives us mad cant wait to move and see if it will be quiet on carpet. my mate got on well with hers but your dd seems as clumsy as mine hence i didnt put her up high till she was 4

    Evening all,

Munchki - I am going to prove the point about parents and spending again! I am saving for DD1s first proper big bed and I have fallen in love with this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280491368428&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT trouble is once I have got all the bits for it, the bleeding thing is going to be nigh on £400! Someone convince me I don't need it, it is sooooo cool, it even has a slide!

Feeling all left out now :( I don't want to diet, good luck to everyone though, and if you would like to borrow the OH, I can guarantee you will loose pounds through stress plus I will pay you pounds to take him :D

...you don't need it, there are other fun things to do and if all that material gets mucky, which it will do, it'll be more bloody washing on top of all the washing you already have to sodding do. .....OK? :D

...No, take my OH, please! Lol.

Toots, you are very bad, this is a moneymaking thread for moneymaking people and I am supposed to be paying you money :p I'm happy to give proper criticism, and I'll be able to let you know if it stands up to the baby chewing on it as time goes on! she can say 'Toto', bless :) thank you for doing it for me, so chuffed! Have PM'd you.

Had gone to bed but got up again as have had news about my grandma having a chest infection; she's got cancer which is giving her a lot of pain in her arm and has collapsed earlier today. Going to go through to see her in the next few days xx
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick @ss.... and I'm all out of bubblegum.
