Ok been meaning to post this for a bit but unsure quite how to word it or just didn't have the energy/time to try but going to give it a go now.
back to the beginning of the original thread which was based on "the secret" and the law of attraction and the premise that thoughts become things.
We find it very easy to concentrate and berate ourselves on the things that don't go well or that we don't do. I've spent years doing that. one thing that helped me in a particularly down time was an alternative to do list and journal.
each night I would write some things that I was going to do that I would normally feel bad about cos I should do something else.
And would write about them in really positive terms such as/ will have a lovely relaxing and refreshing lie in. will enjoy the escapism of watching eastenders. will spend the morning in the very rewarding pursuit of playing with my children. etc
Then each night I would tick these off and add in extra things that might have happened during the day that were either really positive - such as let the woman with only 1 item in in front of me in the queue. or things that went wrong but with a positive spin on them. eg decided to put ebay on hold in order to attend to the wonderfully important job of nurturing my poorly DD etc.
Then as things don't go my way during the day I am already thinking what can I find to feel good about in this for my journal as well as keeping a mental note of all the positive stuff that happens or that I achieve and at the end of the day I get to tick off all the things I have done on my alternative to do list.
I'm not saying be all pollyanna-ish and ignore feelings that aren't positive - just to end the day on a round up of the positive.
Its not something I have done consistently but I have used it in quite negative times to try and boost myself a bit.
