From Trash to Cash: the Dribbling never ends

NLID - they are comparing you to goofbay and also worried about signing up for a free trial..... need to work out why you are better and worth money compared to goofbay, and also address why you are getting them to sign up for a free trial. I don't mean stop doing it but they seemed to think it could be because you were going to sell email addys...so need to make it clear that you aren't etc etc
I knew the first they would do is compare me to a free service... Key points I tried to make but probably have lost in the dribble as I ate my dinner (leftovers from last night - Yummy)
Free service's typically do not offer support
I am offering the ability to easily compare multiple sellers in one single place - Goofbay does not do this as far as I am aware
This software is going to go into the lines of listings, offering links to potential wholesalers as well as other features which I will not discuss publically until they are finalised as they will be unique to market.
Essentially making it an ebay seller toolset to get started from nothing. However I can not make that happen without a major investment of time invested - and time costs money (Mortgage payments, food on the table etc)
Selling of email address: I under no circumstances want to sell email address's - I am not that sort of person (I wont even pass around phone numbers between friends). If I was there are a lot easier/quicker methods to harvest email addresses within my technical ability.
I am not looking to make a serious amount of money off this, just an honest living for me and my family.£4142.49/ £131,795.91 - 3.14% paid off or only £129,608.80 to go!

NLID - you don't have to convince me loL!
Think you need to add a line about not selling email addresses on your website.....
I had not heard of goofbay so we need to differentiate you from the free sites...which as you say is now is the support, the comparison feature of sellers and the future! I'd say this is positive because these people are your future customers...so any feedback from them means you can tweak and adapt as required.
From my perspective you need to add value now to get people to sign up, so we need to be clearer on how you are different......Life is a work in progress0 -
hey NLID, this is just the way it works I think. you seem able to take it in your stride. your points are valid and at least people will be going to look. plus as always more people read than talk on these forums.

Every single piece of feedback I receive is valued so much, positive or negative (As long as its constructive). I get such a buzz from the positive feedback it makes me want to go further with it - and determination to put right the (constructive) negatives to turn them into positives.
I know I need to add features now - I am trying to add those that are easy to add and bulk the project out every day (note we have gone from v1 on monday and are currently on v1.03, with last nights update being an update to the framework to allow todays update to the system.
Maybe it might be an idea to add a changelog to the website to physically show the pace of the updates??
Today we have identified that our biggest dropout of people is the signup pages - so these are slated to be worked on tonight once we have decided how to improve them.
Also we have had our first trial signup :T:T A massive buzz from that on its own!£4142.49/ £131,795.91 - 3.14% paid off or only £129,608.80 to go!

Woo hoo - fantastic that you have a trial sign up!! I wonder if it is someone from the eBay thread
, maybe you need to add a question on sign up - Where did you hear of us? Life is a work in progress0 -

I have a degree from the school of hard knocks and a masters in the school of being critisized (sp) :rotfl:Am thinking of going for my PHD in Money Saving though to make my previous two worthless :rotfl:
Nah, Anything new has a period where it must proove itself against all of the doubters, and doubters will always do what they think is best and critisize (sp) it. The key skill is to be able to stress the positive and take all of the critisism (sp) on board and fix what they are saying and reques more from them.
When the only critisism (sp) left relates to price - you have to sell the features of the software and how they are worth the price you are asking.£4142.49/ £131,795.91 - 3.14% paid off or only £129,608.80 to go!

I will be doing, however this also makes the signup one question longer, which slows down the signup process and gives them another reason not to signup.
Analytics can track most of this once I have set up the goal funnels. Whilst not as precise it does allow us to keep an eye on where they have come from.£4142.49/ £131,795.91 - 3.14% paid off or only £129,608.80 to go!

Mummy&p don't feel guilty about kids sharing anything like my 2 and you will just have 2 rooms to tidy ,once books are gone you could always make small room into playroom with table and 2 chairs and boxes of toys you might reclaim your living room and it means that kids will associate bedroom with just sleeping and so in theory should sleep better .
jo can i ask why you home educate ,thought i saw somewhere that your hubby is a teacher?? i might be muddled i think you do great if you are managing a role of teacher ,mother, cook, dishwasher, nose wiper, bottom cleaner as well as your new job in cafe. i found if i worked a weekend shift to earn extra hubby would takes kids out have fun and spend the money i had worked for and it annoyed the hell out of me so started packing cool bag night before with their normal lunch and now its cheap picnics and not mcd's kids are just as happy. So finally debt free and it feels amazing however continuing here to stay debt free.Next declutter house and body and finally swim under that waterfall x0
