On a different note- elections- I'm determined to vote this year as I am embarrassed to admit I am 38 and have only ever voted once in my life ( for the only reason that I wanted fox hunting banned.. At least they kept that promise!)
Trouble is I know as much about politics as i do about computers ie nothing, has any of the partys pledged to help self employed people?!

MM can't help you on that one sorry. but sure others can or at least give you pointers where to find out. glad you are voting. I am very disillusioned with politics but have realised over the last year the need to be proactive. I am not completely happy with my choice but have very strong reasons for making it. although no party would get my complete agreement or even close to it.

To be honest I think all political parties will be pretty much the same so I just need to find out one thing that I either agree with or disagree with strongly to make up my mind!

I had a look at the bbc election 2010 website today and actually it was useful - you can choose a topic, eg education, housing etc and it gives you a brief synopsis of each partys plans........ just enough info for me!!

mabel-was reading the Scottish daily express today and they seem to be listing what each party was promising (today conservatives p4-you might be able to get it online) because lets face it their not telling us they are too busy telling us what the other parties are not doing, and they are all crooked anyway! doesnt seem to be much for the one man self employed business person - promises lower and simpler taxation (how?), new business would be helped with reduced bureaucracy and NI breaks and £2k for taking on an apprentice- you could get an apprentice dribbler!
