Wow polkadot brilliant results - that is amazing and you must be so proud! One person in a relationship is usually slightly better at finances and once this is admitted and agreed on, there can be hundreds of pounds saved and relief for both people. Plus, it allows you to set a goal for savings and really feel you are getting somewhere!

Congrats and here's to more great results for you! x

He's given me all his bank cards and I now give him "pocket money". It came out the other day that his mum and dad went the same route about 20 years ago-and his dad says its one of the biggest things that kept them married :D
  • Thank you again Eaglelearner..that's now twice I've received some wonderful information from you!! Your money saving spreadsheet really is fantastic....sending it to my parents (although it'll take me a wee bit to explain it to the old-timers!!!!) and to some great friends who have found themselves single after marriage/relationship breakdowns and now single parents....this will be invaluable for them x

Hi MegandNicsmum, I am so glad it might help you and also your parents and friends, so sorry to hear about their breakup. I guess at that point they really do need help with finances as all of a sudden everything has to be divided and bills will be bigger for each of them.
Hope to see you on my blog as well (click my username) for a few more tips and a browse, plus a cuppa and a chat! x

Just popping in to say thank you EagerLearner for this fantastic spreadsheet!

I have been using it for the past 8 months and it has really really helped me in my debt busting endeavours and keeping a close eye on what I spend. Some may say I am a little obsessed about it's powers :o :rotfl:

    Thanks again! :A

Eager Learner - you are a star! Not only have I spent a very happy 5 hours filling in your wonderful spreadsheet which was obviously joyful in itself (yes I know, I know but I love them!) - however have also realised by completing the 'saver pot' tab that I am losing so much interest by saving for my car tax, car ins., house ins. car repairs, Christmas, vet bills etc in their individual piddly little 0.0000001% interest paying savings accounts.

Soooooo this morning I have shifted most of the balances over to my ISA (which previously only housed emergency fund and would never have even tickled the £5100 threshold by April 2011 ) and just left a working float in each one in case of dire emergency.

Obviously using your marvellous spreadsheet I can track the amount in each individual 'pot' whilst enjoying a much better rate of interest and using up more of my tax-free allowance to boot (which in a quirky way makes me feel I am at least putting one over the chancellor - please indulge me :o)

Sooooooo thanks again - from Eagers No 1 fan for 11/06/10 (in a non-stalker-ish way obviously)

Incidentally you mention a freebie tab where you can track quidco, pigsback reward points etc - can't see it on my download - is there an updated version that I can access now I'm on a roll please? -s-

Think it refers to just your payments Angels - you would have to add your interest manually as there are so many different rates of interest it would be impossible to program a spreadsheet to calculate each individual one - 0r that's the way I interpreted it anyway
