Hi Eager Learner,
Thankyou!!
I have been writing all my finances down in a table and using a calculator!!
This is so much easier as I am quite obsessed with recording everything I spend!!
Thanks again:beer:[0 -

I did start using it during January, and it's been very useful - and enlightening.
Thanks.ilovefreegle.org - give it away don't throw it away0 -
Thank you for the spreadsheet, I started using it in January, and I'm finding it extremely useful. I can see areas where I need to cut back, it will be interesting to see how February compares.0

Well done guys - makes you realise exactly what has been going where, doesn't it? I have found it useful to have a spending diary, mainly for when I used cash (as the switch transactions would always be on my statement and I could see where I spent the money to put it into the right column on the spreadsheet). But with cash, a tenner just dissapears, so with a cash spending diary, I can then tie up all the 'loose' amounts that otherwise would have just gone to 'cash withdrawal'. Although I have left a column there for 'cash withdrawal', please try not to use it - otherwise you end up with hundreds of £££ at the end of the year that you can't explain what it went on. Split cash withdrawals into the proper categories as you go if you can, makes it painless...
Keep up the good work!MFW #185

Just found this - have downloaded and saved it and will start using it. I think I might do as a few other people have done and change the savings to debts. I like the way I can break the 'frills' down and get a really clear picture of how I spend. Am realising that changing how you operate is all about knowing how you operate in the first part and that is the really HARD part  Once you know, changing it is easy! So thanks EL for something that is going to really help me :TOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 315 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts:money: LBM #2 - December 2017 - total £17,663.75 DFD - January 2023 :jDD - £500; OH - £7889; Barclaycard - £5135.29, Halifax - £1725.50, Plumbstop - £2226.62, HMRC - £187.34Contingency Fund - £10/ £10000
