    Hmmm... i see.

My current line attenuation is 46.5db with a synch speed of 1852kb/s

I am having line trouble. Meanwhile i have to rely on my LLU isp/openreach and BT to squabble amongst themselves as to whos responsible.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

Oh dear! I've now tried to find information about my exchange via a postcode search another website (Plusnet) and it says that "BT have advised that no current planned date for WBC on 21CN exists".

As far as I can understand (through the confusing acronyms), this means that there are no plans to update the exchange at all! How is this possible when the other site says it should now be ADSL2+ enabled? I can feel my blood pressure rising again...;)

It looks like you have got o2/BE LLU on your exchange which is definitely good news as it means you are no longer reliant on BT's crappy wholesale network. It says that there is no WBC upgrade date planned but what I'm not sure about if this will affect the speed that BE would be able to offer you on their own unbundled network.

Wow, thanks! Very interesting, but I don't seem to be able to log in with "admin" as username and password...What can that site tell me?

    The defaults are:
    Login: "Admin"
    Password: "Admin" or "Password"

    Post your routers line stats.

Many people would KILL for an attenuation as low as 16db

I'm surprised you are not syncing at 7616 in fact (you have interleave on so you won't get the full 8128).

So it's good then? ;) I don't know what the numbers mean, but where does it all leave me? Does it mean that BT can't give me a faster speed (they certainly seemed to think that when spoke to them last), and so if I want a faster connection I'll have to switch to BE?

SonOfPearl - The Newtown Llantwit exchange ADSL2+ is installed and activated I know because I'm on it. I'm with O2 (who shares equipment with Be), my attenuation is 26dB and I get a speed of about 15Mb so I'm thinking you'd probably get a better speed even than that.
Go on, you know you want a super fast connection, change to Be/O2 you honestly wont be sorry you did (the customer service is like a million times better than BTs for a start, then theres the price....)

Thanks safesound! It's a small world, eh? Looks like I'll be saying goodbye to BT then, just as long as I can manage to get a MAC code out of them. They seem rather reluctant! :rotfl:
