Is Goofbay 'snipe' tool working OK for you?

I hadn't tried it but have just put in a couple of things that I could think of, cot, jeans & sandals I got something up for all of them so maybe what you're looking for is always in the title? Oska didn't come up, in the jeans I didn't have the option for womens jeans,0

I have had a number of items "end before the sniper got to them" - which at first I thought was that it had failed, but in each case it was that the seller had ended the auction early (I looked at the completed item) or else someone had bought it at a buy-it-now price and so the auction closed.
I do find that if an auction has no bids, I will put a low (starting price) bid in to ensure that the description/postage costs don't get changed (they can't be altered if there is a bid on the item).
I do find being aware of the bid increments and "going a little over" is top advice - the mis spelt search is good too.
I have spent over £10k on ebay over the past month or so and estimate that goofbay has saved me hundreds if not thousands, and more importantly, means I can set it up the evening before and not have to go on-line before each item ends.
The two items I buy hover around the £80 and £100 mark, I know that bidding £81.99 isn't going to win me over a previous £80 highest bid, but £82.09 almost certainly gets it every time.
And I alter the snipe to 6 seconds before as 5 seconds will leave me competing with other snipers, but a bid of £82.09 means it is mine all the way to £84.
I would like to thank everyone who lists their expensive electrical items on ebay in the early hours and are then surprised when few folks stay up to 2am to bid - leaving snipers to take home the spoils.

The thing I sniped on, ended without a bidder and not early, it was a collect item & so I emailed the guy to ask when it would be relisted & bought it anyway, how naughty!0

have you won it?!0 -
YES! I got it! :j
I'll certainly use a sniper again - but only in conjunction with a manual bid; not brave enough otherwise!"I'm ready for my close-up Mr. DeMille...."0 -
+1 for Gixen.com
Basic features are free but definitely. worth registering ($6/12months) if you are a regular Ebay sniper.0 -

Good, glad it worked for you.0 -
I placed a manual bid on ebay for, let's say, £20, on something, then goofbay'd it with my maximum bid as it finished at about 11.50 am and I really didn't want to stay up late for it.
Anyway next morning, saw email saying that Goofbay had failed due to technical error, then found that I'd actually won the item anyway, as I was only bidder, thankfully.
Therefore, I will never totally rely on Goofbay fully if I definitely want something!0 -

Very angry with goofbay. It hasn't worked for me before on important purchases and last night I set it to bid for me but it didn't bit and I would clearly have won as the item sold way under what I bid!!0
