free dora explorer backpack and books!

3 books and backpack have arrived this morning - with an invoice for £8.48. Have been hunting down this post for the past 5 mins to see which of the books were free.

Has anyone else had trouble cancelling their membership, the previous thread - has worried me a bit as I don't want to be bombarded with books every 3-4 weeks that I have to send back at cost.

Have emailed their customer services and awaiting reply.

If you go to this site http://www.nickjrbookclub.co.uk/ and click on "How the offer works" under point 1. it states the books that are free. Also you are supposed to received 4 books - 2 free and 2 to buy/return.

I had the backpack and two books arrive with a bill for 8.48 emailed them saying I was excpeting four books two trial two free and asking which ones have they sent.

I JUST RECEIVED MINE, BUT WHERE THE LETTER SAYS 2 FREE BOOKS I HAVE ONLY RECEIVED ONE, I HAVE E-MAILED THEM TO ASK WHERE IS MY SECOND FREE BOOK IS. :eek:

I got mine too, but only got three books, so rang them and they will send the other book out to me.
I will prob keep the account open for a while, my kids love the books.

Have emailed their customer services for a pre-paid label to return 2 of the books but got a computer generated reply saying they aim to answer queries within 3 days....

By the way, the books I did receive were Dora's search for the seasons, Blue's dinosaur week countdown and little bill a rainy day to remember - anyone get anything different different?

Recieved mine yesterday, I had:

Nick Jr Orange backpack
Book - Dora's search for the seasons
Book - Little Bill A rainy day to remember
Book - Blue's perfect present
Book - Blue's dinosaur week countdown

All i usually do with Grolier is e-mail them and request a pre-paid label to return the books I don't wish to purchase (I ask them to confirm which books they need back). I state on the e-mail I do not wish to receive any further books and ask them to close the account.

It takes a couple of days for a reply but they always reply with thanks, confirming which books to return and confirming they are sending a label in the post. The label has a rip off section to obtain proof of postage.

I have never received anything further from Grolier so this system seems to work ok for me! Hope this helps!

How do I return books I do not want?
If you are not satisfied with any books, simply return them, with your payment slip to:
Grolier Ltd., PO Box 1354, Swindon, SN3 4GW.
Please remember to quote the Series Account Number and your full name and address to allow us to process your return and credit your account quickly and efficiently. Please obtain a certificate of posting from the Post Office and keep it safe.

How do I return damaged books?
Please contact our Customer Services Team, who will advise you and arrange for a replacement to be sent.

May I cancel whenever I want?
You may cancel your membership at any time simply by writing to our Customer Services Team, after you have fulfilled any obligations, details of which are on your invoice letter. Please remember to include the Series Account Number and your full name and address so that we can cancel your account as quickly as possible.

What should I do if I receive books after I have cancelled?
On occasions, books and correspondence may cross in the post, resulting in books arriving for a series you have cancelled. In this case, please contact our Customer Services Team who will advise you how to return the books.

I received the backpack plus 4 books yesterday! My eldest daughter (4 years) was ecstatic. The price of these are completely worth while to see their little expressions!! I do admit that this is not a freebie though.........

Surely it is a freebie, if you e-mail them to request a pre-paid label to return the trial books (Dora's Search for the Seasons and Blue's Dinosaur Countdown Week)?

All it has cost you is the time to send an e-mail, open some post and visit the post office to return the parcel? Not too bad for a backpack and two books IMO!;)
