What is 500mb data equal to
Options
Anyone able to tell me how much 500mb would equate to in terms of mobile internet eg how many web pages, emails etc. Im looking around for a desire on possibly vodafone but the price plan for the desire ive chosen says "500MB of mobile internet and webmail", i wouldnt be sending many emails but id be viewing web pages eg yourtube, facebook, twitter etc.

There is a calculator somewhere on the vodafone site for working it out roughly.

For 500MB
"Download up to 25 maps with Google maps, open and reply up to 10,000 emails and make up to 10,000 bids on eBay, read around 8300 BBC stories"
As long as you are not watching videos etc, you are ok. The limit is for fair usage as discussed here

The data you get on a mobile web site is usually slimmed down and compressed further so its not like a regular web page your pc.
Videos / multimedia cannot be readily compressed so you just need to be vary of that and also emails with large attachments.0 -

TV on mobile? Something a web site streaming video - it would come out of the 500MB allowance and get used pretty darn quick.
You can pay a monthly charge for a Mobile TV add on I think with vodafone (which will not eat into the 500MB data allowance).0
