Legoland Discovery Centre Manchester

Hi.

Just wondering if anyone has visited this yet and if so what was it like? How long can you spend there?

Want to take my son. We went Legoland Windsor last year and had a great time. Manchester is local to us so it would'nt need a stay over.

Thanks!

I found this a rip off and had already bought a yearly pass (which i'm still trying to sort out- one of the managers should have phoned me LAST sunday!!)

2 hours as MAX!!! to get round it all

We completed all 'bits' and went on the ride twice!!

I normally rave about things like this but felt it was a rip off

How lego is made - FREE single brick with lego factory on it!!
3 displays of lego buildings including blackpool beach and traf centre
    A soft play climbing area
    a cafe
a few tables of lego to build into cars and race down tracks (if you can find enough peices to make a car)
Work shop ( which my nephew loved and so did i - BUT after you have built the model you get the offer to pay for it!!!)
Ride (sit and shoot targets, very short)
3D cinema again bob the builder about 10 mins long!!
and then there is the shop which is the biggest part of it!!

Not happy but now have the pass will be making the most of it!!!

Thanks for that. Did wonder if it was going to be something like that. Prob won't bother now to be honest - save our money for a full day somewhere. Shame though!

I'd have to agree with a lot of the above - much smaller than I expected and very stressful - hot, packed, unsupervised kids everywhere being a pain, nowhere to sit.

But I have to add my 2 boys (4 and 6) absolutely loved the place and could only be dragged out after 3 hours with the promise of a return visit.

The shooting game and 3D cinema were good - 2 different films, there's a wizard one aimed at older kids shown at different times. They also spent ages building then racing their car and enjoyed the soft play bit.

We've got a Merlin pass and live near by so will probably visit fairly often but if I'd paid full entrance price I'd probably have felt a bit riped off.

We went, very busy but did manage to spend 3 hours quite happily, used annual pass but wouldn't have paid full price.

My daughters loved the ride and the 4D cinema....

Have been today. It was heaving and only open to those who'd pre booked or have an annual pass. For what you get it's very expensive, though the ride and 4d cinema is good. If you have a Merlin pass then it's fine, but if you'd paid then you'd feel very short changed. Also some if the displays were already broken. Not their fault I suppose, but not very robust all the same.

    Quick Lego geek question.

Did the shop have a Pick a Brick section or a Build a Mini Figure?

    Lego geek answer!!

Yes - pick a brick was £5 for 100g. Choice was a bit limited when we were there late afternoon.

Build you own minifig was £1.50. Again choice was limited probably due to the time of day.

Plenty of bricks all over the floor though...
