Best network & tariff for an iphone?

I bought a second hand 3G, I'm currently on O2, While I have wifi set up it take a minute or 2 for wifi to turn on, so there I was surfing away and it ate all my credit via 3G or GPRS, I went through £15 in 2 days, I'd want something that has internet minute included,

The best I can see is simplicity for iPhone for 12 months cost £15 per month, but then i'd probably fail the O2 credit check. I don't see anything on Orange or Vodafone.

Vodafone do sim only tariffs which include 500mb of data, and (I think) a sim only iPhone tariff, which includes 1gb...Give them a call, I'm not sure the iPhone tariff is on their website.

Try Tesco, they have new SIM only tariffs suitable for iPhone and they don't appear to do a credit check at all - I needed just my debit card, no ID when I signed up!

Get a few free payg sims and see which works best in your area before you jump in with any network.

Give T-Mobile a bell - they are launching the iphone next month. Its available now to current customers and the deal they offered me was miles better than any others i've seen advertised. Nothing ventured etc...good luck

Have a look on fleabay and see if you can grab an iPhone PAYG sim on O2. It gives you 12 months free internet and WIFI. Good value if you want to remain contract free, otherwise standard O2 PAYG give free internet with each topup for 30 days. Other networks do similar deals too.

How are the call charges on these PAYG contracts? Are they a lot more than taking a monthly contract? The O2 PAYG is attractive, to get free Internet (which is what I need most) but will the call charges be high for, say, 20mins weekly?
