Hallo Taylor,Taylor wrote:Yes, I am being treated at the moment. I have a prescription here for anti depresants which I am reluctant to take. Also, I have no money to buy the prescription. I have been told that they are non habit forming, but I am looking into alternatives.[/p]
You may have heard of St John's Wort, nature's antidepressant, from the flower of the common hedgerow?
You don't need a prescription and is sold in chemists and vitamin stores etc.
Fortunately the strongest concentration (1g) of the active ingredient (hypericin) is also the cheapest to buy in 'Savers'. 99p for 30 tablets.
Like all anti-depressants, they take a few weeks to kick in, but are quicker than synthetic anti-depressants.
The side-effects, if any are, less than synthetic also.
They also help with sleep.
I wish you well.

Hi Taylor, just wanted to say hello, and wish you well on your road to recovery (in all aspects).
There are lots of people on here who have all sorts of knowledge, legal, benefits etc, and plenty who are willing to lend a virtual ear, that I'm sure you will get lots of good advice.
Take care XX0 -
Today, I honestly thought I was making headway. I finally sat down and wrote all my letters to all the companies.
Its while I am waiting for the letters to print that I decide to do down some research as advised by the kind people here.
Now, let me explain. I was talking to someone who had also been shafted by the company that owes me money. He informed me that despite saying that all tax due on the money that he had earned had not been paid by the company.
Now as you can imagine, this sent shivers down my spine. I worked online for about 7 months as a graphic designer for an American based company. They wired me money monthly until they dissapeared off the face of the planet owing me a few thousand pounds.
In my ignorance and stupidity, I accepted that they take the tax due out of the final amount. I consequently thinking that had done everything legally, didnt declare the money. I think I have earned about £9000 to which I have spent it all on paying my debts and keeping my family secure.
Now i know you are think what an idiot. I am also. In my confused mind this last year, and having never been self employed before, I honestly thought that this was how oversees payments worked. I was duped.
I now find myself in the situation that I have no money. I am currently off work with PTS and deppression. I am not claiming benefits. I have people ringing me for money. I cannot declare myself bankrupt as I have recieved all this money and not paid tax and cannot apporach the benifits for the same reason.
Believe me, I never intentionally tried to get out of this. I realise have to pay the money due or face the consequences of going to prison. For my stupidity, I am prepared for that.
This has added a further dilema to my already worring prospect.
Please, I am only after the honest way out of this. I deplore tax evaders and benefit frauds, hence I am asking only for your suggestions and advise.
My condition, I know is no excuse for what I have done however much I thought I was doing this the right way by the law.
Thankyou for your time. If you need further info please ask. I am only too willing to share any info you may need.0 -
Taylor ... please don't worry!!!!
I don't know the solutions but I do know that even if you worry, the problem is still there. I was depressed and being treated a few years back through debt and I nearly worried myself into an early grave ... but now I'm better, and still in debt may I add, I realise that worrying doesn't help. It only seems to makes things worse.
What I will say is:
Tomorrow (Sunday) - Put on your fave CD loud, sing dance and make yourself smile ... have a refreshing bath/shower, go for a walk and clear your head. Try not to think of anything that brings you down. Look at the flowers, the trees, breathe the fresh air and think of the good in life ... your family, your children, you have a home, a car ... and most importantly a life!
Then ...
Monday - First stop CAB ... get there very early and you will get to see someone the same day. Take all your paperwork with you and explain everything ... they are not there to judge, just to help. They'll advice you about the tax situation and what benefits you are entitled to. Make sure you take notes of what to do and in what order.
After the visit to CAB, the rest of the week will proably be planned out for you.
PLEASE keep us all up to date with what is happening, there is help here as and when you need it, whether it be help or a word of encouragement.
But most of all smile, just make yourself smile each morning, smile through it and you'll get through it.
Good Luck!0 -
Welcome.
Any payment protection? That should be your first port of call, if you were signed off sick or medically discharged. Even if you're fit enough for other jobs you might still be able to claim.
Going for CCCS is a very good idea and so is Payplan. Meanwhile, the Citizen's Advice Bureau is very helpful on a day to day basis. It is also a good idea to keep in touch with your creditors and keep them informed of what's happening. If you take the initiative and call them first this scores enormous browny points.
