    So my chooks moved house to my friends for a little while.

    They have just under an acre of land and we set up house etc right near the property. Her garden is flat and completely open ie all laid to lawn.

    She got he hubby to pee round the perimeter and they have hung a bag of his freshly cut hair (apparently this works, obviously doesnt)

    Anyway she has just called to say she looked out of the kitchen window to see the chickens nose to nose with a fox at half six broad daylight!!!

    Help i dont want them to get eaten

    :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

    I wonder if it was a Birds Eye pee around the parimiter if it was no wonder it didn't work because their frozen within 2.5hrs. :rotfl:

    Since the hunting ban, I don't think Foxes are scared of humans any more.
    I seriously doubt that generations of foxes instincts have been blown away in a couple of years... just as scared round here.

    He he he I was just thinking that, one almighty peee. No think they meant the perimeter of the chicken house and run.

    They are penned in and they were nose to nose through chicken wire, although fox could have jumped over as only 4 foot

    I have asked them to enclose it on top.. but why did the fox just sit there... he'll be back thats for sure
    I'm wondering if it could be a urban fox taken out to the country and let loose.
    Foxes are all different though don't forget, some will have been tamed by stupid people feeding them.
    Get them back as soon as you can.

    We have had foxes in our garden that just look at you and aren't scared at all. We turned the hose on it and although it did run off at first it came straight back. Even shooting at it with an air rifle didn't scare it enough. The only thing that worked for us was an electric fence.

    Please don't do that, it's extremely silly, you could cause massive pain if you hit it (you have no chance of killing it, so you will just wound it) and if you don't intend hitting it, the fox won't understand you are trying to scare it off, so it's pointless.
