This is my 6000th post on MSE.

    I joined in August 2007 - 32 months ago.

Doing the stats, that means I’ve posted an average of 187.5 posts per month. Assuming an average spread of 30 days in a month, that means I have posted, on average, 6.25 forum entries per day.

I ask myself the question, am I that sad that I am posting 6.25 comments per day on a website forum that is focussed on money saving but also has an acknowledged income generating side which is used as a vehicle to publicise and swell the commercial coffers of the website’s owner?

My answer is that yes. I am that sad. But, actually and in a contrary way, I’m not sad at all.

I have learned how to save and make money. I have learned (and shared) tips and tricks on old style living and how to make the most of what I have.

I even learned, and proved, that yes, I can tile my kitchen floor all by myself (and me a blonde who spent sometime living in Essex!). I don’t need to pay a professional to do it (thanks AnWsMum!).

Best of all, I have found some good friends who I know I can chat to whenever I feel the need. In fact, three of them came to mine tonight and ate with me. That was really wonderful and it wouldn’t have happened if I hadn’t signed up to this site. And I hope they come and visit again.

So there we have it. Post 6000, if not profound, is clearly focussed on navel gazing (and no – there’s no belly button fluff there I am, after all, a Flylady!). And yes, during the writing of this, the half full bottle of white wine in the fridge is now slightly less than half full – but in a good way.

Sleep well my fellow MSEers , thank you for being there and may your God go with you xxx

Not a dry eye in the house after that speech :D
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, just running into say i won £130 on the Grand National:beer:
    Well done :T

Had a lie in this morning - was woken by the front door banging, so I think DS was late from his paper round  He's not back, so hasn't been sacked :p

Having a cup of tea (pass your cup pigpen, I can squeeze another one from the pot for you :p ) I've let out the chooks, so I'm going to get dressed, hang out the washing and finish my list before I'm back in the garden :j

ETA great news GnB :D hope you have fun spending it. I should really look into this matched betting lark.

    Morning all,

Had a lovely day at the meet yesterday. Was really nice to put some faces to names.

mumofjusttwo is still here, and I'm introducing her to the joys of Starbucks fruit toast in an hour with LadyL. :D We get on like a house on fire, and were up until midnight chatting last night. Feeling a bit tired now though, but I'm sure I'll be ok after a coffee.

Sorry we couldn't make it to soappie's dinner - it's just a bit far for me to drive, so I made a veggie lasagne and salad (mumofjusttwo is veggie as well, and we both have the same food hates which is great). I'm glad that BB was her normal entertaining self. Give her a cuddle from me.

    Plan for today:

Eat fruit toast and have a wonderful time in Starbucks with 2 flylady friends,
Catch up with more mount washmore
Pick up some brass door handles from someone on freecycle
Spend time with OH as it's his last day off work (having taken the week off to help decorate etc)
    Make roast lunch
    Sleep! lol

    Love to all,

    sexymouse xx

    morning all

Love the post soappie. DH got home ok just after 3am. I slept a bit before he came and then was awake for an hour chatting etc - was so glad he's home. He's meant to be going again Mon, Thurs and next Sat but his boss is trying to find someone else to do the Monday as he knows it's affecting me as well as DH.

I ended up being rather sick and having a bit of a nose bleed last night, think I ate too much junk at the church quiz (was lots of pringles then fish and chips, which I only ate half of but still), plus the worry. Feel ok this morning though so that's good.

Just need to go and dry my hair then jump on the bus to church.

Aaaarghh! I woke up earlier and all I could think about was this stupid dissertation so thought I would get up and try and do an hour or so before OH gets up. The problem is I am just staring at the page at the mo with no inspiration. I know what I need to do but I can't seem to formulate the words correctly.

Going to see if a cup of tea will help. I would like to try and get around 1000 words done today and possibly tomorrow as I am back at work on Tuesday and am quite busy.

Looks like I need to get out my biggest teapot

    Morning all,

Ds2 isn't impressed that the hamster has been asleep all morning. I'm going for a meal tonight for my soon to be SIL's more sedate hen night. So i need to sling something in the Sc for OH and the boys. I'm a bit worried about driving home in the dark on my own as it's a good 45 mins away, i know where i'm going though so i should be ok. It doesn't look as warm today as it was yesterday but once my dailies have been done we're going to get out in the garden.

    Morning all

AF arrived as promised so I feel heaps better :j

Kids falling over themselves to do jobs this morning :rotfl: this will be very useful;)

I need to choose a paint colour today so DH can get it on the walls as the floor will go down at the end of the week and DH is out of the country for a few days from tomorrow.

Rach - it gets better them being away DH was in Australia for 2 weeks when I was 7 months pregnant with DS3 and I had a broken foot and the other two to look after. You realise how strong you are and how you can cope.

I think they are just allowing their name to be used and not actually running them from what I heard on the radio - I don't rate their chocolate anyway.
