Moggles where did you get your info on this? I sent off for the forms to start an e isa with them but have decided to wait and see what their rate will be before i apply as the yorkshire isa is now to be 5.15.I questioned them over the phone but of course they deny knowing anything and just say it is a good rate already! Well,i can wait but not for ever!!

I also need to way up which is the most likely to sustain the new rate.Does anyone have advice on which one is the most reliable?

    Hi Froglet

I'm a Bradford & Bingley customer, so I phoned and asked on a regular basis. Until this morning, I got the same spin as you. "It's a competitive rate already... etc, etc."

Btw, I asked about the ISA as well, but they would not be drawn on that one, unfortunately.

It looks as though we'll be looking at a more level playing field by 2-3 September, which will make decisions a little easier.

    Cheers

    Hi All

It's good to see another mortgage bank come clean on interest rates at last.
The new rates will be paid from Sunday 3 September 2006.

    Cheers

  • Nationwide have finally made their announcement today, FWIW.

Looks like HSBC won't be raising interest rates on their Online Saver. Their interest rates page shows the same rates as the pre-BoE raise, but with an effective date of 04-Sep-06.

Now I gotta do some research on where to move it all.
