The note I've sent them:
Anyone any idea how good they are at replying to messages sent to them via the web?I note with some distatse that your "30 Day Notice ISA (Aug 06)" account is currently paying 5.0%AER, yet the "30 Day Notice ISA" (closed to new savers) is only paying 4.9%AER.
1) Why are there 2 separate accounts with very similar names.

2) ICICI Hi-Save account?
http://www.icicibank.co.uk/personal-banking/faqs.html#241.What is the Interest Rate Guarantee?
We offer an interest rate guarantee on the HiSAVE Savings Account. We guarantee that the gross interest rate will be at least 0.25% above the Bank of England Base Rate, until 31st December 2007. During this guarantee period we promise to implement any applicable increase in our rates within thirty business days of an increase in the Bank of England Base Rate.Conjugating the verb 'to be":

If Nationwide do decide to raise any of their savings rates, following the recent base rate increase, you should find information about it on the Nationwide Media Centre page. Please call me 'Kazza'.0 -
I have enquired of ICICI directly by email.Paul_Herring wrote:
The good news is that I received a prompt reply. The bad news is that the response was very non-committal - in essence just to keep an eye on the website. :rolleyes:0 -
I note that Nationwide have made an announcement today on mortgage rates. First things first, eh?Kazza242 wrote:If Nationwide do decide to raise any of their savings rates, following the recent base rate increase, you should find information about it on the Nationwide Media Centre page.
'Following changes to the Base Rate, the Society will increase its Base Mortgage Rate by 0.35% to 6.24% for both new and existing borrowers from 1 September 2006. '
Apparently savings rates will be reviewed and announced in due course. :rolleyes:0 -
Little snippet about when we'll see rate changes from Saturday's Times:Changes on most ISA rates are expected early next week, but most building society customers will have to wait until the end of the month to find out how, or if, returns will be affected."The state is the great fiction by which everybody seeks to live at the expense of everybody else." -- Frederic Bastiat, 1848.0
