Whoops, sorry, yes Capital One is who I meant.

AFAIK, Cahoot have yet to make an announcement

They confirmed in an email to me that it'll be August 30th (but didn't confirm the new rate).

Here's the Yorkshire Building Society Internet Saver interest rates page.
I've just found out that YBS are being a tad naughty with their ISA's.

    http://www.ybs.co.uk/savings/interest_rates/30daynotice_aug06.jsp

    The note I've sent them:
I note with some distatse that your "30 Day Notice ISA (Aug 06)" account is currently paying 5.0%AER, yet the "30 Day Notice ISA" (closed to new savers) is only paying 4.9%AER.

    1) Why are there 2 separate accounts with very similar names.

    2) Is there any way of transferring from the old to the new without penalty?
Anyone any idea how good they are at replying to messages sent to them via the web?

  • Is anyone aware of any rate news/changes/dates pertaining to

    1) Nationwide linked e-saver account?
    2) ICICI Hi-Save account?

    TIA.

I suspect/expect no movement from ICICI:

    41.
What is the Interest Rate Guarantee?
We offer an interest rate guarantee on the HiSAVE Savings Account. We guarantee that the gross interest rate will be at least 0.25% above the Bank of England Base Rate, until 31st December 2007. During this guarantee period we promise to implement any applicable increase in our rates within thirty business days of an increase in the Bank of England Base Rate.

    FAQS Number 41, until 31/12/07. Which implies a minimum of 5% atm...hmmm...

If Nationwide do decide to raise any of their savings rates, following the recent base rate increase, you should find information about it on the Nationwide Media Centre page.

I have enquired of ICICI directly by email.

The good news is that I received a prompt reply. The bad news is that the response was very non-committal - in essence just to keep an eye on the website.

I note that Nationwide have made an announcement today on mortgage rates. First things first, eh?

'Following changes to the Base Rate, the Society will increase its Base Mortgage Rate by 0.35% to 6.24% for both new and existing borrowers from 1 September 2006. '

Apparently savings rates will be reviewed and announced in due course.

Little snippet about when we'll see rate changes from Saturday's Times:
Changes on most ISA rates are expected early next week, but most building society customers will have to wait until the end of the month to find out how, or if, returns will be affected.
