Download speed of 0.3mb

I live in Leyland Lancs and use talktalk for my broadband. I am only getting 0.3mb download speed. Is there anything I can do to increase speed. talktalk say its the distance from the exchange etc, etc and that there is nothing they can do.:(

If you are so far from the exchange,then not much.

Have you done all the usual tests from the BT test socket behind the master socket faceplate? Using ethernet not wireless? Checked your ADSL filters all good and all active sockets filtered?

The only options you have are to move house closer to a exchange or get Cable internet.

The first option is not the best I know but sadly on ADSL the further your away from the exchange the slower you will get. Its nothing to do with your provider and any provider will have the same issue. Its down to physics

Although this is only a straight line distance your line will not take the same route. This just gives us a estimate. Furthermore if you could give us your line stats from the modem/router we could advise more.
