    Log looks fine to me

    Reset internet explorer

    1. Open Internet Explorer.
    2. Click Tools, and then click Internet Options.
    3. Click the Advanced tab.
    4. Under Reset Internet Explorer Settings, click Reset.

    ..............................................................................
    Then run some cleaners ~
    Download CCLEANER
    http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/slim
Run the CLEANER scan (UNTICK 'cookies')
Then run the REGISTRY scan (Backup the registry when it asks)

    reboot

    Download GLARY UTILITIES
    http://www.glaryutilities.com/download/gusetup_slim.exe
    Run the ONE CLICK scan
Goto MODULES / SYSTEM TOOLS / WINDOWS STANDARD TOOLS / then run SYSTEM FILE CHECKER

Is that necessary? as I don't actually use IE ?

Turns out I am on IE 6, but also registered for auto updates.

Also re CC, it hasn't asked me if I want to back up, should I be worried?

Being on auto updates you should already be on IE8

And yes, id recommend you do even if your wise and dont use it ;)
Microsofts security is based around having the latest updates

CC will ask you once you to click to remove the registries

    OK will update to IE8.

CC is only giving options to "Fix selected issues", (every thing is ticked!), or "Scan for Issues".

No mention of the "Then run the REGISTRY scan (Backup the registry when it asks)" from your post #42, should I just click to fix?

LEFT HAND side underneath CLEANER is REGISTRY

Yes, have done that and the register is sitting as explained above, but has not asked me to back up?

Have not seen anything in relation to your snapfiles picture?

Ahh, should I "scan for issues"? then will it ask to back up?

Just click to fix the registries (The pic was just to show you the left hand side, the rest isnt important)

OK, but that picture is not on my screen.

I have not got "fix the registries" button, just as above, "Fix selected issues", (every thing is ticked!), or "Scan for Issues".

    Nothing about backing up!
