Notice no acknowledgement of your useless info. I just pray that someone doesn't use this site and see the 'helpful' info you provide and act on it.

Just so you are clear....Armed Forces cases are different and the children can be anywhere in the world with their serving parent or their partner and CSA is due as they are working under the UK. Hope that's helpful. Period:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

i missed the part about armed forces, so yes, my post was incorrect.

So, how many times does he visit? This has a direct impact on the amount of any variation which will be split over an entire year, disregarding the first £15 per week. So, if he came over 3 times per year, at a cost of £2000 in total, this would be split over 52 weeks, making a cost of £38 per week, disregard the first £15 per week leaving £13 per week as a reduction in his income.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the replies.

It looks like the variation, might work out worse for himself, when we offered the 2x £150 which would include accomodating and providing use of our spare car, plus collecting & delivering to the airport.

Well at the minute, the planned dates he has said he wanted to come have not been booked or he has not told us, and now we have other members of the family who want to come and stay in cyprus for a few weeks (its 2 groups).

We have no idea what to do if he decides to come at the same time, as Mrs Alias sure wont be happy packing daughter away when cousins of her same age group have come to stay for a few weeks.

I just stand at the sidelines and watch as it has nothing to do with me...

. Not sure if rules for 'collection for the PWC' also apply if you work for a private UK Company and are paid in the UK and paying taxes in the UK - but they can collect from an NRP being paid IN the UK by a UK company.

The rules for collection by the CSA are such that if the NRP works for a comapny which has a UK pay office (so the NRP does not need to be resident in this country just be paid by a company who has an office in this country that has a payroll) then the CSA can impose an assesment and DEO where necessary.

YES the mighty kelloggs does have faults !

    Sorry but £38 - £15 = £23 not £13 :D
 I've paid the CSA off and stopped them taking payments:beer:
I'm stillowed some arrears by my ex

I was a NRP, now I'm a PWC, partner of a PWC, and parent of a PWC ( and very confused at times )

We are in the opposite position to you, being the NRP living abroad due to OH's job, and he misses his children dreadfully.

I can understand your NRP being bitter about you taking her abroad, I'm sure my OH would feel the same. I have to say though it sounds like he's pushing his luck and trying to get a free holiday! If you were in the UK he wouldn't expect you to pay hotel costs if he took her on holiday surely? I think you are being very fair and accommodating offering to pay a portion of his flight costs - offering him what is the equivalent of a month free of CSA payments when he visits - we'd be jumping for joy if our PWC did that!!

Would it be an option to book the contact house for him when he visits then he wouldn't be too close for comfort, have his own space, and his daughter could choose whether to stay with him or stay with you and see him daily. One of our neighbours did this when her children's father came to visit.

As for flight costs, don't know where you stand regarding CSA - from a NRPP point of view we paid more than £1000 for my OH's children to visit last year, flight costs were high as we couldn't pin them down on dates until just before they visited so we couldn't get cheaper early flights - unfortunately we just bit the bullet as it were and paid that in addition to then maintenance of about £600 that we paid that month - my OH was desperate to have them visit, and there was enough hassle getting that agreed and getting them over here without haggling over money too - if we had tried to get her to contribute to the costs then we would never have seen them. Also we weighed it up against the amount we would regularly spend when we were in the UK seeing them every other week - travel costs, food costs etc which we are not spending at the moment and it probably evened itself out in the end.

You seem to be doing the best you can for your step daughter to keep her in touch with her father I think you are being fair offering to contribute - will he refuse to come if you don't pay all his costs? Maybe you should just give him an ultimatum - "we are prepared to give you xxxxx and that's it" and leave him to fight it out with the CSA if he chooses to - as NRP even in the UK we have had all travel costs constantly refused even when we had a round trip of 4 hours every other Friday and Sunday to maintain contact - if they won't pay petrol costs are they really going to pay for flights to Cyprus??

In the UK we had a face-to-face officer that used to visit the Hive who was really helpful with advice - I imagine the CSA won't send one abroad once a month though!! - but I do have a phone number for him PM me if you want it - I don't know whether he could help with advice or whether you would get the same advice given by people like Kelloggs on here.

    Hope things get sorted.

lol! Clearly maths isn't my strong point at the moment. But yes, you are correct, it would be £23 per week taken off the net income, which when fed into the system wouldn't mean that much of a difference - for one child it would reduce it by £3 per week on CS2.

    13Kent,

We did ask about the contact flat for the week, but it was fully booked till august. We can source a hotel appartment not far down the road for the same price as the contact flat.

He has elected to go with the variation, but has not told us the dates. We were talking earlier about returning to the uk for them dates, as it would be about 44 euro each back to the UK, and £51 back out.
