Yes you can get a grant, but you are only allowed to go to certain shops. You won't be given a big wad of cash and told to spend it how you like, it will be pre-arranged through the store (I know Dorothy Perkins is one of them), the Job centre will give you a piece of paper to verify who you are and the staff will let the Jobcentre know how much you have spent!! It's the government's money and you have to apply for it!
You won't be able to claim money back by saying you've had to borrow some money off a friend. That won't wash or everyone would be down there trying to get money to pay off loans from friends. If you have the friends to start with, I'm sure any of them would cough up a tenner to help you get a job and you can pay it back in your own time!
Good luck with the jobfinding.
Explain why a blouse and Black trousers/skirt isn't adequate for a job interview, even if it is for cabin crew? If the smart look isn't good enough then I'm sure they're not going to want to set on a size 16 woman. I'm not being cruel, I'm just giving my opinion!!
National Express often work out cheaper than trains too. Pre booking would make it even cheaper!! £48 return from what I've just seen!!Yaaay, I finally conned a man into making a honest woman of me. Even more shocking is that I can put the words "Happily" and "Married" into the same sentence and not have life insurance on my mind when I say it ;-)0 -
Can you have the £33 hotel room and book your train journey elsewhere? There are £94.50 returns on www.eastcoast.co.uk - now that you are travelling on Thursday there's more to choose from. e.g. Depart 14.26 from Newcastle, arrive Luton Parkway 18.34 - gives you time to unwind in your hotel and get a decent night's kip.
I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

Thanks Screamer. Yeah thats why a suit jacket would probably be a little better to hide the belly ive getting. yeah they have height and weight restrictions but im hoping to lose the extra weight ive gained as training is months. but unfortunatly im not able to lose it by friday. and was that on national express website? do you have details? as id rather go by coach anyway as saves me changing at 3 stations do they get me there for 8 in morning that would be fab thanks.0

it wasnt it was part of a deal thing but if i can get east coast for that then i will be able to afford the £45 or whatever extra it will be for room thanks :-)0

Not all wear jackets, and I've just had a quick look at the spec and it doesn't seem to specify a certain weight. I am sure that you could get away with a nice blouse and trousers, and maybe a nice cardigan? TBH I think you would look better in a nice blouse and trousers, than a cheap jacket and trousers.
I think my trousers will be too short, but I'll drop you a PM tomorrow night if I find anything (off out to the pub now!).Gone ... or have I?0 -
