I was redundant in february. but worked in asda CDC warehouse Fridge but it was a 12 week temp contract and so been unemployed again since september! sorry i meant £5 was a typo! i dont know of anyone that is my size as i was a 10 but have now gone to a 16. I dont think im scrounging as i myself was a taxpayer for over 5 years but due to the state of this country my job as steel sales became redundant and then i have struggled ever since. I have lent money off ppl in past as living on £50 doesnt get you very far i lost alot with losing my job i.e. car, social lifestyle so im not purposely being unemployed! i also have another interview which is down in luton to work as cabin crew on friday and i am not trying to get money for my travels which is costing me over £200. i think people judge the unemployed a little to harsh! try putting yourself in our shoes! hasn't everyone at one point took off the government or is everyone on £1000k pa so they dont have to. thanks for all positive feedback0

I really don't think, even given the short notice and the fact that the JCP is closed, that you can get reimbursement for money spent on interview clothes without prior arrangement. Sorry.
I'd second the suggestion of charity shops, but you've got very limited time now and I'm not sure you'll find any open - you've really only got Monday morning to shop, whether it's charity shop or Primark.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Is there a railway station in Washington? I couldn't find one when I searched for train fares.
I did check out Newcastle to Luton Airport for Friday, and you can get an Off Peak Return for £97.50. Still a lot, but better than £200. What time is your interview?

Youve gone from a size 10 to a size 16, i would have thought it would have been the other way round if you were worrying about employment. But who am I to judge. Sorry if it came over that way.
Charity shops are your best bet or are there any car boot sales on in the morning, bargains galore there.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
yeah its from newcastle to luton parkway! i have to go down on thursday and stop over night not through choice but as you will be able to see the earliest train i can get is leaving newcastle thursday at 9ish and gets to luton for 2 in morning then next leves about 4 and gets me there for 10 interview for 8. if anyone knows any other ways or cheaper ways to get there?? also back to clothing allowance will i be able to get grant to get interview clothes for this as i dont think a blouse and black trousers will go down well for interview to be cabin crew. again im not scrounging just after 6 months and also paying to get down myself i dont even have any other money for clothes. thanks again Bogof_babe0

When I am not working I always put on weight. All too easy to sit on the sofa and eat chocolate all day, even when jobseeking!stickyvikki wrote: »yeah its from newcastle to luton parkway! i have to go down on thursday and stop over night not through choice but as you will be able to see the earliest train i can get is leaving newcastle thursday at 9ish and gets to luton for 2 in morning then next leves about 4 and gets me there for 10 interview for 8. if anyone knows any other ways or cheaper ways to get there?? also back to clothing allowance will i be able to get grant to get interview clothes for this as i dont think a blouse and black trousers will go down well for interview to be cabin crew. again im not scrounging just after 6 months and also paying to get down myself i dont even have any other money for clothes. thanks again Bogof_babe
The Holiday Inn Express can often be got at very low rates. Have a search on www.hotelscomparison.com, and also if you search the forum for a poster called Obukit, he has a thread that shows you how to get very low rates at Holiday Inn hotels. If you can't find it I'll search it out later.
You may be cheaper to buy two single train tickets, although that route never seems particularly cheap.
How tall are you? Can you sew?Gone ... or have I?0 -
Put all thoughts of a grant for interview clothes out of your mind as thats not going to happen by Tuesday or even Thursday I wouldn't think. I still think borrowing some clothes from someone is the way to go. You must know someone who is a size 16?Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0

Your interview is at 8.00 a.m.? Blimey I'd have explained how far I was travelling and asked if they could do it later in the day.
I take your point though, having looked again at train times. Tricky one.
