I don't know if you are male or female. Is there nothing you can wear. For example if you are female perhaps a plain or patterned blouse and a knee length skirt or plain trousers, and if male a shirt and tie and trousers and jacket or a suit if you have one. Of course appearances matter, but you may well find something suitable in what you already have. Oh, no trainers either.0

It depends on your area, some Jobcentres have schemes with specific local shops you must use, and you couldn't just claim back money.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0

I got made redundant back in February and have only worked in factories since then so used all my trousers up there! i have read on other thread that you can get a full suit with some government funding but you have to go to certain shops. im happy enough going to primark to get 35 trousers and £4 blouse and some shoes or boots from Asda but as you can imagine been unemployed for over 6 months my size has drastically changed so i dont have anything that would fit me that would be smart for an interview. i just need to know wether i can claim the money back on tuesday with receipts that way i could get a full outfit for £25-£30. Im not someone who needs a a full fancy suit just plain black trousers and a shirt. sorry for ramble im just really confused and getting excited for interview. :-) thatnks for help0

Can you borrow something to wear from a family member or friend?Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0

Try charity shops. I often see brand new or good-as-new smart clothes in them, for a couple of quid an item.
By the way, if you were made redundant in Feb and it's now the beginning of April, how have you been out of work for six months?
I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

Cant you afford to buy the things yourself, like you say you could go to Primark and get a cotton blouse for about 3.99 and a pair of black trousers for less than a tenner. Surely thats not too much for you. (why would you pay £35 for a pair of trousers in Primark)
Personally i would feel like i was begging if i wanted to be reimbursed. I wouldnt demean myself for the sake of £14.00
But thats just me of course.
Dont forget, its tax payers money youre talking about.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

I think it's incredibly unlikely they'll give you the money to cover what you have borrowed from somebody else. You'll have to pay it back yourself. The fact that there is someone willing to help you out alone says that you do not need the jobcentre to foot the bill.
Either borrow something or the money I say,or check out charity shops.Or have a look in Primark, black trousers and a shirt won't cost much at all in there. If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -

I was wondering that about the Primark trouser price.I'm guessing it was a typo!If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
