Can you move to St A Uni please???

Pretty please Universe - send my friend up here - LOL

Now this is something worth considering. Wishes sent to the Universe please. Mr FW has been talking about moving to Scotland anyway (no Torries; no student fees; loads of spirit and for me, hilly running).

Fantastic stuff! And being a vegetarian, I'd certainly never actually eat a frog either :) I like Pesky Dragons. But I like Brian Tracy's concept, that its something you're dreading - it helped me write an email today, and do it by mid morning, whereas I adore dragons, so they don't have the connection to yuckiness for me.... Real life yuckiness, what would that be? Clearing a blocked toilet? Now *thats* essential to do as soon as you can :)

As for what we ask for from the universe .... I think I've only done it once seriously, asking for money. The money really did come, but it came in an unexpected way. I asked for £2,000 to pay off a 0% credit card that was ending, and what *I* meant was that I wanted to start trading, and get it from that. But what happened is that a family member wanted to give me that exact amount, for their own reasons, I hadn't told them anything about what I was doing. It was weird. So I think I would ask for the skill and perseverance to start trading, by the end of June. Thats the equivalent of "give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Give him a fishing rod and line, you feed him for ever". I'll work on that a bit, I think. Thank you all.

On the frogs - I like calling them frogs simply because even when often the big frog isn't actually that bad task, it's the one sitting in the corner of my mind 'croaking' away, bringing me down about not getting it done...and then the peace when I've 'eaten' it :D

Now that sounds familiar :o not doing the job I know I need to do, but not enjoying what I am doing because of what I should be doing 'croaking' in the corner.

Pickle, there are no rules except that one has to be specific and there have to be timelines (I suppose). BTW, I just received a voluntary redundancy scheme announcement which is I were to take it will give me what I asked for. However, this is not what I meant but then who know what does the future hold; it may be that another university will make me an offer I can't refuse and this one will give me voluntary redundancy.

OK, so I want two things in life (well, three really)
    1. money to travel the world
    2. a house deposit
    3. a pension
Now I guess £100,000 would cover the first two (and much of the mortgage on the house as I could only really afford a tincy, tiny one at best), so do I ask for money for those two things, or a lump sum. (I'm not fussy - I'll take it any way it comes, and there's currently a cheque for £100,000 blu tacked to my bedroom wall! :rotfl:)

Good evening, people. Gosh, it was lively here today - so nice, all this chatting. Today I acomplished a lot but there are still several lose ends. These are:

    1) To make an action plan about friend's business (in which I have some investment, mainly time and effort);
    2) Mind map the blog.

Sorry to say but the blog is becoming a proper old frog. Part of it is that I keep reading these absolutely wonderful blogs and comparing, and thinking...well, let us say thinking forbiden thoughts. All the time forgetting that these people have been writing for years and years and that they are likely to have 'doubled their failures'. But they persisted and were not scared.

Please , Universe, I know I am trespassing too often but you are plentyful and generous.

No you are not, FW! And don't worry yourself to a standstill over it. As a very well known writer I once saw for a Q&A session said 'Write it first. Worry about playing with it later once there is something to edit.'

    Wise words, methinks. ;)

    a pension

Please don't worry about pension; anyone my age or younger than me (and I know you are younger than me) is unlikely to have pension or not before we are well over 70 anyway.

I was getting really worked up about the whole situation and then decided that I'll have to become rich; failing this there is always prison. Have to say that I have not worried about pension since.

Travelling the world is an awesome idea - and apparently much cheaper than you think. But do you really want to buy a house? The more I think about it the less sense it makes. Do you realise that 61% of the net worth in Britain is tied up in non-icome generating real estate; in other words in our houses? No wonder the economy is not very dynamic - money generates value when it circulates, the faster the better. When tied up in houses it doesn't circulate; it is static apart from speculation. But speculations end up in tears historically.

Apart from that houses and possessions generally keep people grounded (in a bad way). Owning a house makes it harder to get up and travel.

This does not mean that £100K is not forthcoming - I am joining you in a wish to the Universe. It is more about what you spend it on.
