On the frogs - I like calling them frogs simply because even when often the big frog isn't actually that bad task, it's the one sitting in the corner of my mind 'croaking' away, bringing me down about not getting it done...and then the peace when I've 'eaten' it :D

Here you go my lovelies - now go and write your cheques.

And be specific - I put a "wish" out a month ago for £7K - and the universe sent me that, in the shape of a long and forgotten pension. So my net worth has increased by 7K and I can't spend a blessed penny. This time I am asking for spending money IYSWIM

Ok i have to ask .... Why call them frogs ? Just because a guy that wrote a book called them frogs ? Do u think of them as frogs ? I have never thought of them as frogs ( but call them that for the benefit of others) why not think of them as something else ? Something personal .... And why make them nast horrible yucky etc .... Why not tasty ... Vause when they are done you can do the more enjoyable things u want to

Im aware that i do think differently from some people though so please feel free to ignore

I don't call them frogs, I like frogs too much to eat them, or even think about eating them :D

I call them Pesky Dragons, and think of it as climbing up a large hill (yet AGAIN) to ask a bunch of well-meaning but a little boistrous friendly dragons to keep the noise down a bit :rotfl: :rotfl:

You're welcome. And that willl be £1,100,000.00 then, please! :p

But in all seriousness, should there be any 'rules' to how much you ask for? What I realistically need/want is a deposit for a house and/or money to travel the world. What I have asked for is £100,000 as that would cover both nicely, and would seem to be a completely unrealistic amount for me to get at this stage in my life, so that if I do get it, I shall have to say 'Yes, The Secret works'! ;)

    Thanks MG! :D

And you know what they say about 'be careful what you wish for'. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I also need a pension, so I'm wishing for a nice shiny full crock of gold. Just not leprachaun gold as J.K. Rowling shows us what happened to that! ;)

And you would be very proud of me: I just planted lettuces, red onions and tomato plants. But no pickles. Not yet, anyway! ;)

Pickle, there are no rules except that one has to be specific and there have to be timelines (I suppose). BTW, I just received a voluntary redundancy scheme announcement which is I were to take it will give me what I asked for. However, this is not what I meant but then who know what does the future hold; it may be that another university will make me an offer I can't refuse and this one will give me voluntary redundancy.

Well, not really. Or it is as I said - an offer I can't refuse. But I am very choosy and it will have to be to a better reputation place (though I am currently part of an Institute that is rated top worldwide so...) or to something entirely different.

Like really making loads of money fast so I can retire and write full time (I mean non-academic stuff). According to a blog I have taken to reading one can retire in five years time were one to save 75% of their income. Interesting - but these five years may be the longest in one's life.
