Its nice to hear a good side to a company, people are always quick to critisize, but never any good at complimenting.
I have to say i have never had a problem with them in the past, and if there is ever a language barrier i always ask to speak to someone in the uk, but they always deal with my stuff quickly and efficiently, although i pay my bills every month, have a direct debit setup-so i never get charged a late payment fee, and where possible pay the balance in full every month-so i guess i am an ideal customer.

Well, I did talk to a English lady. I can tell you, that was not joking. She was arguing with me, and cut my line at the end! Like you, I never missed my payment. I just tried to change my bank for direct debit. I have been with them for 4 years. Everything was fine up until this point.
  • Not wishing to criticise, but the fact that they were not going to take the DD would have been evident on the statement for the month in question. If there is not a specific message that they will be taking £x on or around a date stated, then you can guarantee that no DD will be claimed.

I recently took out a card with HSBC and ticked the minimum payment box. When I activated the card, I checked & the CSA confirmed a direct debit had been set up. No message was forthcoming on my first statement so I paid the minimum, just in case. Sure enough, no DD was claimed.

I would doubt they see you as an ideal customer for paying in full each month. :)
