Unfortunately I didn't get a choice and was told ACCA was pretty much my only choice, something along the lines of it's more for managers - meh, maybe I don't want to be a manager?! Everyone said that ACCA was much harder than AAT but I did my final year of technician as revision courses with no prior home study and managed to pass so I didn't think ACCA would be too bad after that..... I was wrong!!!!!

The pass rate for the course I did today was 42% nationally so I guess that is a good indication  Probably depends on what is more relevant for you in your job? If you aren't in a rush to get it all finished then you could do one ACCA exam in each sitting, I think you have 10 years to complete it!

I bet the wedding weather will be gorgeous too, not been to Cyprus myself but the OH has and he adores it :T

Very happily married on 10th April 2013 :D

    Hi Kel :hello:

OH is currently doing CIMA - he's got 3 exams this week and if he passes those (crosses everything) his last one will be this year. He started out doing it with BPP but last year changed to Kaplan and they seem infinitely better.
Need him to get fully qualified so he brings in more pennies so we can get a bigger house (and I can get a dog ;))
A friend has also recently started her CIMA as well.

I've not heard of ACCA though:o

The wedding package sounds lovely :) the rate this year is flying by it will be around soon enough :D

    xx

    Evening all!

In my current job we are only an office of 6 people and i do all the admin and assist with the accounts. So really i don't need it for my current job but want it for future career choices. I am paying for it myself.

I'm not in a huge rush. I always imagined i would leave my current job when both DD's were at school but now i think i still want pretty flexible hours for things like sports days, assemblys, helping with trip etc. And in my job now i have SOOOO much flexibility. I can change my hours at the drop of a hat. I was meant to work all day today but when i got in told my colleague i would be off at 3pm for my mums birthday. As long as i fit my 23 hours into a week of make up the hours on a later week then they are happy! So maybe i will stay here until the school early years are out of the way.

I hope this year flies by! To think this time next year i would have been home for 6 days! :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j

lol herewego....that would be awesome but a little unlikely :) My huge milestone will be getting down to just owing the loan which should be next year just after the wedding! :j

We WI this morning and i have put on 1lb! I am feeling a little deflated! Food hasn't been bad over the last week (could have been better) but i have exercised loads! I know they old muscle weighs more than fat thing but still is deflating after what has felt like a lot of hard work

I think perhaps i need to step up a gear with the food. I can't change meals this week due to set meal plan. But June i can change my meals. Would mean OH eating separate meals a bit which he wont be too pleased about. I am thinking of cutting down on bread and potatoes. Like having casserole but with only veg on the side and no mash or roasts.

On a positive note i feel better..i know my trousers feel a little looser so must be doing something!

Fingers crossed my extra £82 payment from Tax credits is included tomorrow! Then i can throw that at LW! Payday for OH today and payday for me on thursday! Woohoo

Need to manage my money a bit better this month (june). My problem is i get money from CTC through the month yet i made a BIG overpayment to LW to avoid interest very early on which left me having to shuffle money around waiting for wednesdays to arrive. Usually i would wait until the end of the month to make one overpayment with remaining money. Still worked out okay just a bit too close to the limit. Overpayments of £200 using wages this month, £40 from ebay and used £40 from my birthday money so not done too bad. Hoping to have a frugal June and finish off LW as well as making a dent in wedding debt!

Right college today to see how i did on my assessment last week!

Then home for gammon pasta (also going to try and avoid pasta next month)

Better add my gained pound to my sig :(

  • Hey LittleKel - I think this is the first time I've actually posted although I have dropped in before. I soooo wish I could do our wedding again, it was just the most exciting time - you'll love it.

You seem to be fab at this debt busting thing, I would love to be as organised as you, going to keep popping in to try and pick up some tips :D

    Hi Kel,

Don't feel bad about the lb, it's hot - might be water retention ;). I get so frustrated if I don't constantly lose when on a diet or trying to lose weight which is why I never stick to them! I bet you (no money involved - we can't spare it!) that next week you will lose 2lb!

Your job sounds fantastic and it's so much easier when you have flexible working terms with children. I suppose I am quite lucky that I can work from home if need be and often I have gone in late or left early and no one really bats an eye lid :)

hmm, if you are paying for courses yourself then CIMA might be a good route - I don't know how many exams they have but ACCA is 11 and that's with exemption from the first 3 exmas so it works out damn expensive.

    Take Care

    Jody

Hello D2BDF - i really enjoy numbers- so i am constantly working out things and what i can do etc! :D

I will look into CIMA and ACCA soon. My college teaches ACCA which is great as i can do a class setting but then i like the flexibility of working from home when i can fit it in. Motivation is the biggest problem at home though as i can easily become 'distracted' to another task!

    Pretty good day today

Got housework done and sent off two parcels. Didnt get round to doing next months mealplan yet though

My cousins birthday soon (she's 4) and so i went to argos to order a toy pet thing she has on her list. She has the dog and wants the cat. It is the same code for both so they bought all 3 down for me to see and they were all bliming dogs! GGRRR I was going to get 2 as they are £9.99 but 2 for £15 so would go well in my present stash!

So off i went a little annoyed. Then got home and realised i hadn't even looked online! And WOOHOO there it was on amazon for £6.99 including free delivery. Now usually i would have spend another few pounds on her. However it is on her list for £9.99 and my aunt wouldn't know i got it from amazon so i have a £3 saving! Just need to decide whether to add it to my birthdays account incase i overspend on someone elses or to pay an savings on birthdays off debts. Only small amounts each time but it all helps!

NSD today. My brother paid for car parking and the presents is from my birthday budget money! Just need to make tomorrow a NSD and i have reached my target on the last day!!!
