how do you update the title of a thread?

hi title says it all- how do you add an 'UPDATE' to the title of a thread? can't see any options in edit?

Go to advanced edit

Go to the thread you started and edit the opening post using the edit button.

Then a big grey box surrounds the text you wish to edit.
At the bottom right of that grey box are 4 buttons; Save, Go Advanced, Delete, Cancel.
