I did the same, I hope I'll be able to add more at 3.5% but I'm not overly optimistic.
It looks as though I was wrong, it said I could add a further £5100 so I have just done so.

The £5100 is just emphasising the maximum ISA level.

The website now shows the maximum balance for the 3.5% rate as £10,200 - maybe they updated it to take account of the start of the new tax year, or they just hadn't thought it through before.

I popped into the local branch to open a 2010/2011 3.5% Isa a couple of weeks ago and left a post dated cheque for the 6th April 2010. I received a letter saying that the account was opened last week with no deposit to take advantage of the 3.5% and that the cheque will be paid into the account this week.

Now I'm wondering if this will be classed as opening an ISA during 2009/2010 since I already have one with another provider....

Not if you didn't fund it. HMRC doesn't care how many ISA accounts you have, only how many you put new money into in any tax year.

As above - the maximum balance for the 3.5% rate is now showing as £10,200, so if you opened the account at 3.5%, it looks like you're all set :-)

Just to add my tuppence, I went in on 22nd March saying I wanted to open a 2010/11 ISA and was advised to make an appointment (for today) and not given the option of opening one then and funding it later. I was told today that it's 3.2% for 2010/11 ISAs. Can't be bothered to dispute this for the £15 difference, but it looks like the comment I read somewhere here about them "honouring" existing appointments no longer applies.
  • I opened the 3.2% flexible ISA over the phone today, and the queue was very long.....

I noticed the 1stDirect ISA has gone down today, along with some others that have been mentioned on here.

I suspect the 3.2% will close at some point in the near future; presumably Santander have some kind of target, and I reckon it will be reached fairly easily

  • I applied to Santander online for 2010/2011 over a week ago, but have not received any paperwork. Where does that leave me? I'll just have to wait and see!

For anyone else, it's possible to open online. (I think they did suspend online applications last week for the 3.5% one and they still weren't available when I checked yesterday evening).

I haven't got the account number or sort code yet but presumably they will come by email in the next two working days, as per info at the end of the application.

I opened 3 Easy access ISA with Satander all 3 of us, me, oh and daughter did. One in the bank 2 and a bit weeks ago and me and OH last week. We deposited maximum 3.6k in each one. My daughter had money taken out but we have no documentation nor an option in her online account for money she has in there of where it has gone.

My OH hasnt either but I got a letter yesterday with personnel ID number and e banking password and it said I will get registration number next few days, is this how its done? We already bank online with them on another account

We already have online joint account but money came out of a account we only have a savings book with. My daughter applied nearly 3 weeks ago but nothing other than showing online money taken.

Now am I right in saying we will get 3% above BOE rate so its 3.5% now. I just heard some people having problems in past get there full rate with some ISA

I opened the 3.2 A&L ISA on the internet yesterday.

Got the email with all the account details through that evening and today it is showing up on my online banking page.
