Only thing I found using nationwide debit card in ATM's is the local banks were charging us $2 to $5 dollars a time for using the mashine. Last year the bank of America did not charge but this year they did. Credit card charges no fees and you get the comercial rate which means more $ for your £.
    .

So get csh out using the credit card and any particular atm?

No, never get cash out of an ATM with a credit card (you will be charged interest and a fee - even with Nationwide credit card).

so i presume the bank rate is more favorable?
The Visa/Mastercard rate is the best exchange rate. When a foreign bank uses DCC and charges you in Sterling, they set the rate and they load a commission into it so you end up paying more than if you had paid in foreign currency.

The Nationwide credit card is the best card for purchases.

The Nationwide debit or cash card is the best card for withdrawing cash.
