Clydesdale Bank Credit Card Query

Hi

I am currently trying to reclaim payment protection insurance on a clydesdale credit card. When i was sold this i was not advised that the insurance was optional, i originally took out this card 10 years ago.

Today i have received a letter from the complaints department advising they where looking into this and would i complete a questionaire. The questions are:

What was your occupation when the policy was taken out?
What was the basis of your employment (temp/perm)
Number of hours worked?
Expected retirement age?
Gross annual salary?
Outgoings per month?
Did you have existing PPI?
Recollection of the meeting.

Has anyone had anything similar??

    Hi there

I am aware that many banks are sending questionnaires, so this may be procedure.
I would just answer to the best of your knowlege, it could be that they do not longer hold ALL the details on the account if this was taken out 10 years ago.

    Good luck with this.;)

  • The fact that they are asking those questions is a clear indicator of the fact they have mis-sold the policy, i would be reluctant to answer them they should have collected this info in the first place. It's just a stalling tactic, something needs to be done really. If you can't meet your council tax for a couple of months you can't send them a questionnaire on which policies they've met expecting to buy 2-3 months, they have all the power even when then owe you!

    Hi Leela

Yes that is fine, you can always write (please refer to my letter) and my account, as you should hold my details on file from when this was sold to me.
If this is still a running account then I'm sure they would still hold all your info.;)
