i'm with virginmedia at the moment as a national broadband customer as my exchange doesn't have wireless or cable.
only adsl, adsl max ,sdsl and llu.
for the last week or so my connection has been very slow, scan pc to check for virus and am clear. from virgins website i've seen they have a problem their end.been getting max 0.49kbps for downloads in speed tests
i have called them twice about my connection
1st blamed my bt line asked me to run speed test and call back and that he'd send an email on ways to speed connection up but this failed to arrive
2nd call chap explained they had a problem their end and asked for patience, said should be fixed beginning april.
now i've been looking around for a new supplier to see whats available
got some estimated speed tests
now talktalk estimate max.3.2mb
but bt and sky have estimated me a speed of 512kbps for my line.this sounds very low.
now i'm a couple of miles from the exchange but my nestdoor neighbour is with bt and when i went round yesterday to help de-virus her pc, with the viruses she was still getting a download speed of 1.22mbs.
now should i see what happens with virgin
change to another supplier and hope for better speed or
as estimated speeds are low could i have a problem with my bt phone line.
sorry about long post
thanks
