Slow Ebayer Sellers...

Hi guys,
Thanks for all responses. I thought most of you would think it was unreasonable.
I also feel guilty if I don't post the next day at the latest and do state 1 working day on my listings and will refund is the item has not arrived within a week.
It just seems to be the wrong way around in my opinion, I'd have thought It would be better to assume things would arrive quickly unless it says so in the listing as this could encourage sellers to be slower as its generally acceptable and makes postage method stated a little pointless.
I'll be sure to more clearly emphasise the fact that i dispatch same or next day in future listings

i've always posted next day, after receiving payment, and alot of my feedbacks are praise for 'lightning fast delivery'.
Luckily I only live less than a mile from the Post Office, I've been there so often, that we're due to take over the Post Office :rotfl: so no more queing for me :T
personally, i dont purchase from ebay, but i would think buying something on Mon, you should receive by Fri0 -
I like to send the items out ASAP as I find it annoying to have them hanging over me, metophorically speaking.

What do you consider generally acceptable though? Ebay say that you should allow 3 days after the sale for the seller to contact you before even contacting them, and that's before the item is processed or shipped.
IMHO sellers should clearly state what their usual shipping times are, and if they don't, then the buyer should take this into account when deciding whether the seller is someone they want to do business with.0 -
I'd say that a week for a first class item is fair enough.
Always great if they land within a day or so......but a week seems fair to me. Depends where the nearest PO is in proximity to the seller..........

Mike
The thing is I buy a lot of things on EBay that would probably be cheaper in the shops but to save me the hassle (and in some cases the expense of driving a 30-40 mile round trip into the city) I buy on EBay. These items are normally consumables eg batteries, packing material etc and I normally need them immediately. So I will hunt down sellers who offer a fast postage service over those that are the cheapest. If I am not sure I will send them an e-mail and ask when it will be posted or ask politely in my PayPal payment.
For those selling bits and bobs from around the house I don't think it is as important but can only be beneficial to a sellers sales and prices in the long run0 -
I give estimated handling of 3 working days after payment to allow for weekends. Have had buyers choose 2nd class postage and contact me when it doesn't arrive the day afterOne day I might be more organised...........

Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
Agree its unreasonable to expect delivery net day unless its stated in the listing. However quick delivery helps in the feedback replys you get and hopefully retaining customers.
A week is about the limit, before you can expect buyers to started questioning you, though sending them a delivery confirmation email explaining reasons for any delays does help especially if you delayed sending the item for over 3 days( 1/2 days shouldnt a problem).0 -
i always try to post items i have sold on ebay asap - however some buyers take ages to pay and if i often get paid for an item after returning from the post office to post other items. I think if items aren't paid for quite quickly then a buyer can't expect them to be posted immediately.now mum of 4!!!0

I find this really annoying....as a seller I 95% send things out next day, i sometimes wait a day for other buyers to pay,....this is relaxed if I have to wait over 5 days for payment as I assume they are not in a hurry, then I post when convenient. I have often waited 10 or more days for so-called first class and then give neutral feedback, nobody as yet has negged me back.0
