Want to get Sky- phone line query

Hello all,
I just moved into a new house yesterday and want to get Sky. However, I'm not sure if I have the active BT phone line required? The previous owners were with TalkTalk.
Sky have offered to activate my line for £39 but I'm sceptical to whether this is required.
Can anyone advise/help?

A one off payment of £25 to $ky in lieu of their 'interactive discount'. No phone line requred. As easy as that!RIP independent MSE.
