Internet access in student homes/flats

Can anyone help me find a reasonably priced way of my student daughter connecting to the internet through an already established phone line in her room in a house shared with 5 other girls? Last academic year she did this through NTL and each girl paid through the nose for this facility.

Get the broadband put on through a wireless router, buy a wireless card for each computer, everybody shares the connection then split all the costs six ways!
It won't be very fast if everyone decides to use it at the same time but so long as they are not all in to downloading music and video it should be fast enough for browsing and emails.
Connection fee = free with some suppliers if you take a one year contract
Yearly broadband cost £14.99 x 12 = £179.88
Wireless router = £40 (may be cheaper if you get it in the broadband deal)
Wireless cards x 6 (or USB adaptor) = £90
Total = £309.88
Per month per person = £4.30
Too expensive?
'EDIT' Why not try and ask the 'Techie Stuff' forum people?I love my spell checker, it stops me making all sorts of stupid smelling mistakes. :doh:0
