    Hi
    I am a newbie here:)

Thanks for starting threads about sim. I'd like to know more details about cheap sims.
  • I signed up to a deal only 2 days ago with Vodafone.

    12 month sim only contract
    £10 per month
    300 anytime mins
    3000 texts
Also used promo code at checkout and got a free vodafone mobile thrown in.
And used TCB to earn £90 cashback.

Loads of minutes and texts and a free phone for equivalent £2.50 a month, Good enough to move me away from payg.

Well for £5 a month you get 1000 texts on 3 Mobile, but nothing else.

If you want internet+texts+minutes then you could get T Mobiles £10 a month Tariff with
    -100 minutes
    -100 texts
    -1GB internet

Or if you don't mind a 12 month contract, 02 do for £15 a month
    -300 minutes
    -Unlimited Texts
-Internet (unsure of limit-think its 500MB)

For a cheap SIM card with minutes and texts included, try:
    Orange 5 tariff from buymobilephones.net via quidco.com
    It's a 36 month contract offering 50 minutes and 50 texts a month.

Quidco.com will pay £25 cashback, buymobilephones.net will pay £40 automatic cashback with the Nokia 1208 handset, you'll be able to sell this handset and the free upgrade in 18 months time for at least £10 on ebay. That's £85 cashback altogether, leaving a total of £95 in line rental over the 36 months of the contract.

£2.64 per month for 50 minutes and 50 texts.

Certainly a low price SIM card, but only worth considering if you're happy with this tariff for the next 3 years.

I wouldn't take the risk imo, 3's deal is a rolling contract and 36 months is a long time for a pathetic amount of mins and texts. PAYG beats this. Top up £10, get 300 texts free and around 50-75 minutes based on network.

The "free" texts only last for that month, and £10/month is significantly more than £2.64 per month.

Admittedly, the 50 mins/50 texts deal is NOT worth considering if you are likely to regularly go over this.

Not if your with 3 mobile. They last 3 months or 90 days, so £3.33 a month for 100 texts and roughly 16-17 minutes and 50MB data and 100 3-3 calls. And no long contract.

Thanks for pointing out three's free bits last for 90 days - I'd missed this.

I don't quite get how a £10 top up gives about 50 minutes a month. Doesn't it just give 50 minutes overall, at 20p/min. Unfortunately, I don't have friends on the three network, so free three-to-three calls don't help me. If I texted a little more and called a little less, the three deal would be better.

Ah yes I missed that. But if you call alot consider T Mobiles £15 a month SIM only with
    -600 mins
    -500 txts
-1 Flexi Booster (Internet, Landline Calls, International, Unlimited Txts etc)
