Ive been to turkey twice before, and both times the prefered currnecy was different.
The 1st time i went was about 6 years ago, we took lira they preffered Euro's. (olu deniz)
The 2nd time i went about 3 years ago we took euros and they preffered Lira. (marmaris - nightmare)
Which meant we spent a fair bit if time exchanging money, staff taking an age to work out the different rates etc etc.
I know we need £10 sterling each (english notes) for our visa's but im having a major debate with my DF about what currency to take.
We are going Full board plus, which means everything is included and we wont need much apart from extra drinks on an everning, all our meals and drinks with meals, plus ice creams etc are are included.
Ive been to this place before its where i went 6 years ago its amazing and when i was there last time i think we only spent £100 and that was including a couple of afternoons in the creche for our little one and 4 t-shirts from the gift shop.
I would like to get one of those prepay cards, as both mine and DF's cards are classed as cards from hell when using abroad.
Which is a good one to go with and what are the pit falls in idiots terms please. Ive read up on so many that im just confusing myself. I would want it in sterling so i can use the left over back here at home.
I was thinking about getting £100 Lira, £100 euros and £250 Sterling plus visa money.
Does this sound like a good plan.
I can always leave my details at home with my mum and get her to top up my card should we need it which i doubt.

Hi Princesswoo, Any time we go to Turkey we don't bother changing sterling as the exchange rate is always better when you get there. Hope you have a great holiday we are going in September.0

So it would be better for me just to take sterling and exchange it as and when we need it?
Thats makes my life a whole lot easier.
Im so excited i cant wait, i would be there now if i could, when we went 6 years ago at the same timeof year it was 39C in the shade. I really need some sunshine.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T

Yes, take sterling but be sure that you have some insurance cover for lost cash. Otherwise, consider travellers' cheques.
Lira are the money there, so change some sterling into Lira once you have arrived so that you are not confined to tourist places.0
