Hello everyone, we've just had a new boiler too (£2400!) but it will be much better to have a safe boiler that works properly, and it should save a bit on bills as it'll be more efficient. We've been bad so far this month as DH has just bought a Wii.... the good news is that doesn't come out fo my budget ;-)

The other good news is that we're going to be trialling some water saving devices, but I don't know what yet!

Sorry I've not been around guys....head playing up after almost 6 weeks of night time pills :(....so not really going out and sometimes finding it hard to go online so doing a lot of reading and crochet. Can't listen to the radio or shower  so hair is getting manky....Just put washing machine on cos I noticed I had a full load. Shouldn't take long and is like mega easy to use now. You just like leave it on 'd' (it's that old lol) and shove it on extra rinse and the towels don't come out like rock cakes :). Leaving on extra rinse makes like a huge difference with the towels - though I don't know if it's so wise with the soap nuts so maybe next time I'll just do 'd' then take the soap nuts out then put it on another rinse?

Dr. C today re meds...I'm improving a little since my really bad head screwed weekend but still need my 'disguise' to go out. I went to training scheme on Monday and like was looking for the cameras so came home. My £10 fossilized hifi I got the other month is a lifesaver when I can't listen to the radio :T.

I haven't been to vol work today cos I slept in and didn't feel confident I wouldn't be searching for cameras. The voices have been really bad past few days but a little better yesterday and today but Ma has been having tantrums so it's been hard. I'm just texting her now for a few days and what with my nightmares of last week things aren't great between us.

Good news = keyboard freecycled and like linen basket (in the rain yesterday). Have another linen basket to freecycle and some pictures to take down the charity shop :). Now I have the freezer in the bedroom it's clear out bedroom time:).

Alas I bust my juicer by putting a banana in it so I've had a whoopsie spend so far this week of a juicer off ebay for £22 (rather than £40 on amazon) inc postage.

And the guy who I sold the blackberry to is giving me a hard time because he wanted it tracked and I didn't charge enough postage for it to be tracked :P

But like we've applied for the grant so pray I hear about that soon. If I get it and I have a little over might invest in my cable for my J sewing machine?

Blessings...fish cake has my mobile if ever ya worried about me...

    hi everyone!

Its been awhile .... although I do try to read every other day. Hugs to everyone who needs them and well done to Slow Fading on getting through teaching practise.

Things coming along nicely here - overspend on the food shop though and I've bought the stuff to build my piggies a new cage. They have needed a new pad for awhile and I want to give them a comfortable life so the total for that stands at £50 (up to yet, still more things to get...)

I took some pics tonight of all my plants to show everyone

My spuds seem to be doing well but I am baffled how I am going to tell when to start harvesting them, same for the lettuce. I am also concerned that there are too many lettuces in each trug as theyre looking very compact. Any ideas welcomed.

    Pics here.

Top drawer you can thin out the lettuce and eat what you pull out. Everything looks very healthy.
I harvest potatoes when the tops start to die off.

    Hi everyone,

Thanks for the comments about the tent, really useful. It's prob a good idea to wait for sales so I may do that and have a look at some 'in the flesh' as it were...
Still managed not to go food shopping - jsut more milk. Tho the fridge and freezer getting sparse now!
Erme hop you feel better soon. Take care.
That's all for now DD hovering for computer so off to do a bit of crochet xx

Jayne, not sure if it's the same in Aldi in the UK but over here they have a tent and other camping gear for today's offer. Looks ok to my non-expert eye! The festival sounds great - I'm really interested in that sort of thing.

    hi,

JayneC - I love the sound of that festival!!! I am seriously considering whether I could get my act together and join you. I normally consider a 3* hotel camping but I think I might have to lower my standards a little because it sounds so interesting and it involves music too.

Nuala - Why dont we buddy up and attend together? Will PM you.

Just replied to you Jen ... you have sorely tempted me but I can't afford it cos I'm saving to go to Plum Village in France on a retreat.
I used to be the same about the 3* = camping :rotfl:but I have lowered my standards A LOT in recent years. Needs must and all that!

Oh you should go though .. then you and Jayne can report back and tell me what I missed! :D
