    Ok all you recyclers you all probably have a lot more imagination than me so i'm looking for a bit of help please.
    Does anyone have any ideas what i could do with a single fridge to help my new budding hobby, my OH has put it in the garden whilst it awaits a trip to the tip but i keep wondering if it could be handy for something.
    I already have a cold frame so don't think i need another (but i may use it for this if i can't think of anything else).
    We only have decking which is where my veg will be pots in this year.
    Thanks in advance.

    I reuse the large plastic milk containers to make self watering pots for lettuce etc.
    I think they are 4L containers but the same can be done with the smaller ones.

    You just cut them in half along the middle, then put a hole in the plastic screw top.
    You then put string or something equally absorbant through the hole in the screw top to act as a wick.

    Turn this upside down and put it into the bottom half which acts as the water reserviour.
    Then fill the top half with compost and seeds of your choice. Put water in the reserviour and watch the seeds grow. Here's a picture of one with lettuce seed growing;

    Large 5 litre mineral water bottles with the base cut off make ideal cloches for individual plants. Poke a stick through the hole to anchor it in the wind.
    The empty containers from drinking stations in gyms, offices, etc, are even better cloches for bigger plants like courgettes, etc but you'll need a hacksaw to saw the base off.
