Boots glitch at last!

I think you will find that this is not a glitch but the SA putting in the wrong code.
The incentive bond codes can be just one digit different from the ACM vouchers. It's happened in the past, but just genuine human error and a 'one off'.
So don't get too excited.;)~ What goes around comes around ~0 -
The voucher scanned as Incentive Bond and took £20 of my bill. Total to pay
Also gtothec you have just identified yourself to Boots, by stating the date, the store, how much you paid etc, vouchers you printed out. Boots do monitor this board as long term bootsers know.
Please everyone be aware what you post on here as there have been many problems in past years with transactions that were deemed illegal or fraudulent. MSE will not support this in any way.~ What goes around comes around ~0 -
Seems this is a glitch AND has happened in the past already, even reported on these boards :O Though how strange it's Belfast again just 3 years later, something smells dodgy to me!!

I was in Boots in Donegal Place BELFAST today (well 17/12/07)
I took 2 X Urban Decay gift sets ('Shattered' & 'Midnight cowboy') priced at £18 each to the till.
I handed over my personalised, 'double points' coupon (valid till 24/12/07) which can be used twice, and was charged £16 ( yes ...£16 ?!?!?)
The SA looked a bit shocked and double checked that both sets had scanned (which they did), then put my bargains into a bag and that was it !
The only additional info on the receipt quotes:-
'INCENTIVE BOND......20' and
'offer points....500'(for buying any 2 Urban Decay products over a certain amt)
Incidently,on my way out of the store I saw more stuff I wanted which involved a £25 purchase so I once again produced my 'double points' voucher. When the transaction was complete, the SA handed me back my double points voucher and pointed out that I could still use it once more (?!?!) before 24 Dec....this info was quite clearly printed on my receipt.
Now as I look at the first receipt -for the Urban Decay purchases -there's no mention of double points!!!!!.........but I'm a happy bunny.
This "glitch" won't be happening again as some very unsubtle MSEer asked the sales manager in this store "I hear youre giving £20 off vouchers....." They then explained where they got this idea from (this forum) which caused the Manager to then visit this site and promptly phone head office to ensure this doesn't happen again.0 -

But the vouchers are scanned not manually inputted?0 -

OK, I agree that the OP (and those who quoted him/her) should delete references to this transaction, but surely it's not illegal or fraudulent???Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

The "incentive bond" discount popped up a few times on the old Boots boards, and certainly wasn't limited to Belfast:) It was usually just random luck as Polls has said.
Gthotec, well done on your good luck, though may be an idea to edit out your store and spend:):starmod:C'est la vie:starmod:0 -
gtothec, did the SA scan the coupon or input it manually? TIA
noticed. Neither did the cashier thankfully and I skipped out of the shop at top speed! Hopefully it works for some of you. I haven't the nerve to try it again.

Maybe I misread but I took her words to be a general friendly warning. Some Boots glitches can fall into a grey area, and so its always best not to draw attention to yourself.:starmod:C'est la vie:starmod:0 -
Well done, that was mega flukey that you got the incentive bond.
When i was in Boots one day a little while ago i had a voucher and when the number was inputted it came up as incentive bond £20. SA called manager straight away as she didnt understand what happened and deleted it to start transaction again. Put it thro again and no incentive bond came up.0
