I was in identical posistion as yourself, similar figure, except my FD ISA expires end apr, what I did was apply for a 4% 3 year M&S ISA .... http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2112837&page=9

might be worth ringing them to ask if you can get the 4% rate if you send transfer form off today, instead of the new rate that will be coming out

How do you know when the fixed FD rate expires? Is it one year from the date of deposit?

As I have already allocated my 2010/11 allowance to another provider will M&S accept a transfer from FD which expires at say end April at 4%?

M&S website stated they needed your transfer form by March 29th to make sure it is logged before the new tax year. Don't want to be negative but I highly doubt you have time to get your transfer logged in time now. You can try but don't be surprised if they reject your application or open the new issue 10 at a lower rate.

... conflicting info from reps again :) .... was told that the 29th deadline was for non transfer applications, was told that as long as they receive my issue9 transfer form before 5th they would honour the current rate But your right anyway as just realsied last day is today because of holidays, for them to receive the form

You can deposit money for new tax year from 6th April (Letter from First Direct comfirms this). 5th is the close of the current tax year.
