Hi, I wonder if anyone can help explain my water bill!??
Now, I understand the how they work out the water supply and used water, that's clear as day on my bill. However, can anyone explain how they calculate the "Water Stnading Charge", "Used Water Standing Charge" and "Measured Drainage - Band 01"?? Its got me stumped!!

They are fixed amounts for your area and size of property, set by the water company. There may be more details on their website (there are for my water company) or you could call and ask.June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

The water and sewerage standing charge is based on the size of your supply water pipe. Most domestic properties are 15mm so approx £24/£13 pa water/sewerage.
Measured drainage is on the assumption that your 'surface' water from gardens/gutters enters the sewerage system. You are being charged for a flat or terrace property.
It is possible that you should not be charged for this latter charge as you water goes into a soakaway - look up Surface water Drainage in this section of the forum.0 -
So if I just divide these charges over the number of weeks my bill runs, I'll get my weekly amount? In theory I could then times that by 52 and get my yearly charge?0

Correct. or you can look up the charges on-line.
However I suggest you ascertain if you should even be paying for SWD.0 -
